The expression of interleukin-8 and interleukin-8 receptors in endometrial carcinoma
Cytokine, 2012Interleukin-8 (IL-8) is a pro-inflammatory cytokine which exerts its effects via binding to 2 receptors, CXCR1 and CXCR2 and is known to promote angiogenesis, mitogenesis and motogenesis in cancer. IL-8 is over expressed in endometrial carcinoma, but the expression of CXCR1 and CXCR2 in endometrial carcinoma has not been previously investigated.

Interleukin-8: An evolving chemokine
Cytokine, 2022Early in the 1980s several laboratories mistakenly reported that partially purified interleukin-1 (IL-1) was chemotactic for neutrophils. However, further investigations by us, revealed that our purified IL-1 did not have neutrophil chemotactic activity and this activity in the LPS-stimulated human monocyte conditioned media could clearly be separated ...

Interleukin‐8 in neonatal sepsis
Acta Paediatrica, 2001This study was conducted to evaluate the accuracy and kinetics of interleukin 8 (IL-8) as a test for early-onset bacterial infections (EOBI) in neonates and to examine whether IL-8 would allow unnecessary antibiotic therapy to be reduced. First, IL-8 was measured 378 times on admission, along with C-reactive protein (CRP), immature to total neutrophil ...

Interleukin 8 in Behçet's Disease
The Journal of Dermatology, 1994AbstractActivated peripheral polymorphonuclear leukocytes (PMNs) and infiltration of PMNs into the lesions are characteristic findings of Behçet's disease (BD). A variety of cytokines, including interleukin 8 (IL‐8), have been shown to activate PMNs. To investigate the role of IL‐8 in the development of BD lesions, IL‐8 production in vivo and in vitro ...

Interleukin 8 in the Human Colostrum
Neonatology, 2002We investigated the postpartum changes in colostral interleukin (IL) 8 concentrations during the first 3 postpartum days and examined the IL-8 production of colostral cells at the levels of both protein and mRNA. Colostrum samples were obtained from healthy mothers after full-term delivery.
