Interleukin-1 receptor antagonist protein inhibits interleukin-8 expression in lipopolysaccharide-stimulated human whole blood.

The American journal of pathology, 1992
Interleukin-8 (IL-8) is a neutrophil and lymphocyte chemoattractant and activator that may play an important role in mediating events at sites of inflammation. IL-8 is produced by many cell types in response to a variety of inducers, including interleukin-1 (IL-1).

[Using process of refolding the protein to obtain recombinant human interleukin-1 receptor antagonist].

Sheng wu yi xue gong cheng xue za zhi = Journal of biomedical engineering = Shengwu yixue gongchengxue zazhi, 2009
Recombinant human interleukin-1 receptor antagonist was expressed in E. coli as an insoluble inclusion body. The inclusion body was dissolved in the 8 M urea and then the solution was diluted untill the concentration of urea became 2 M. By ion exchange chromatography the protein in the solution of 2 M urea was refolded and purified.

EFFECTS OF AUTOLOGOUS INTERLEUKIN 1 RECEPTOR ANTAGONIST PROTEINE ON ACHILLES TENDON HEALING IN RABBITS

2017
The cytokine interleukin-1, more precisely its beta form (IL-1β), plays an important role in the initial stages of the inflammatory response in almost all tissues including tendons themselves. It is involved in the activation of inflammatory factors cascade and other molecules and also directly or indirectly increases its own local and systemic ...
