Functional comparison of EncB and EncC cargo proteins in iron storage within the Myxococcus xanthus encapsulin

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Encapsulins are protein nanocompartments that play an important role in iron storage. In the Myxococcus xanthus encapsulin system, two cargo proteins called EncB and EncC contribute to iron mineralization. Here, we show that EncB and EncC generate iron‐containing minerals with distinct chemical compositions, suggesting that the composition of stored ...

The Evaluations Of Taxonomic Classifications In The Genus Trifolium L. Based On ITS Sequences

open access: yesSakarya Üniversitesi Fen Bilimleri Enstitüsü Dergisi, 2022
The genus Trifolium L. belonging to family Fabaceae is represented by about 255 species in the world. Two classifications based on the sections or subgenus are commonly used by the researchers in the taxonomically evaluation of the genus Trifolium ...

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Metagenomic data of fungal internal transcribed spacer from serofluid dish, a traditional Chinese fermented food [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Serofluid dish (or Jiangshui, in Chinese), a traditional food in the Chinese culture for thousands of years, is made from vegetables by fermentation. In this work, microorganism community of the fermented serofluid dish was investigated by the culture ...

Establishment of a humanized patient‐derived xenograft mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer for preclinical evaluation of combination immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...

New Genotypes of Enterocytozoon bieneusi Isolated from Sika Deer and Red Deer in China

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology, 2017
To examine the occurrence and genotype distribution of Enterocytozoon bieneusi in cervids, 615 fecal samples were collected from red deer (Cervus elaphus) and sika deer (Cervus nippon) on 10 different farms in Henan and Jilin Province.

Longitudinal genome‐wide aneuploidy measurements in circulating cell‐free DNA to predict lack of benefit from pembrolizumab in patients with metastatic urothelial cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Many patients with urothelial cancer do not benefit from treatment with pembrolizumab, while at risk of severe side effects. Changes in the levels of circulating tumor DNA early during treatment, measured by a simple and affordable assay that can be easily implemented in the clinic, can be used as a prognostic tool to identify these patients.

The internal transcribed spacer rDNA specific markers for identification of Zanthoxylum piperitum [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Genus Zanthoxylum which has significant medical importance belongs to the family Rutaceae. This investigation was aimed to identify total internal transcribed spacer (ITS) regions among the nuclear ribosomal DNA (nrDNA) to distinguish Zanthoxylum ...
