Diversity and complexity in neural organoids
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Internal variability in competence †
Abstract To the non-linguist one of the most obvious facts about natural languages is the availability of ranges of, often subtly, differing ways of expressing the same linguistic meaning, where the differences correlate with values on non-linguistic parameters.

Old World megadroughts and pluvials during the Common Era [PDF]
Climate model projections suggest widespread drying in the Mediterranean Basin and wetting in Fennoscandia in the coming decades largely as a consequence of greenhouse gas forcing of climate.

AAA+ protein unfoldases—the Moirai of the proteome
AAA+ unfoldases are essential molecular motors that power protein degradation and disaggregation. This review integrates recent cryo‐electron microscopy (cryo‐EM) structures and single‐molecule biophysical data to reconcile competing models of substrate translocation.

Potential therapeutic targeting of BKCa channels in glioblastoma treatment
This review summarizes current insights into the role of BKCa and mitoBKCa channels in glioblastoma biology, their potential classification as oncochannels, and the emerging pharmacological strategies targeting these channels, emphasizing the translational challenges in developing BKCa‐directed therapies for glioblastoma treatment.

Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

Single circulating tumor cells (sCTCs) from high‐grade serous ovarian cancer patients were enriched, imaged, and genomically profiled using WGA and NGS at different time points during treatment. sCTCs revealed enrichment of alterations in Chromosomes 2, 7, and 12 as well as persistent or emerging oncogenic CNAs, supporting sCTC identity.

Attribution of the record-high 2023 SST using a deep-learning framework
The global-mean sea surface temperature (SST) reached a record high in 2023, exceeding the 2016 record by 0.14 °C. This unprecedented change in global-mean SST has major implications for our understanding of internal variability and the forced response ...

Regionalization of anthropogenically forced changes in 3 hourly extreme precipitation over Europe
Future extreme precipitation events are expected to be influenced by climate change; however, the robustness of this anthropogenically forced response in respect to projection uncertainty especially for sub-daily extremes is not fully understood.
