Quasi‐interpolation by splines on the uniform knot sets

open access: yesMathematical Modelling and Analysis, 2007
In the case of uniform grids, the error of the spline interpolant of a function defined on R has been well estimated. On the basis of the spline interpolation formula for functions defined on R we derive quasi‐interpolation formulae for functions defined

On Iterated Interpolation

open access: yesSIAM Journal on Numerical Analysis, 2022
Matrices resulting from the discretization of a kernel function, e.g., in the context of integral equations or sampling probability distributions, can frequently be approximated by interpolation. In order to improve the efficiency, a multi-level approach can be employed that involves interpolating the kernel function and its approximations multiple ...

Genomics‐led approach to drug testing in models of undifferentiated pleomorphic sarcoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
GA text Genomic data from undifferentiated pleomorphic sarcoma patients and preclinical models were used to inform a targeted drug screen. Selected compounds were tested in 2D and 3D cultures of UPS cell lines. A combination of trametinib and infigratinib was synergistic in the majority of UPS cell lines tested, which was further confirmed in an ex ...

Un important anniversaire pour la science roumaine

open access: yesJournal of Numerical Analysis and Approximation Theory, 2002
We evocate the foundation, in 1957, of the Institute of Numerical Analysis in Cluj-Napoca, by Tiberiu Popoviciu. We underline the research programme of the Institute and the main results obtained here.

Correlation of Creep-Rupture Data for Complex Alloys at Elevated Temperatures [PDF]

open access: yesMetalurgija, 2007
The main tendency towards the development of the methods for predicting long-time data on of metallic materials is to derive the correlation relationships, which should be as general as possible.

Unraveling LINE‐1 retrotransposition in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The novel RetroTest method allows the detection of L1 activation in clinical samples with low DNA input, providing global L1 activity and the identification of the L1 source element. We applied RetroTest to a real‐world cohort of HNSCC patients where we reported an early L1 activation, with more than 60% of T1 patients showing L1 activity.

Quadratic/linear rational spline interpolation

open access: yesMathematical Modelling and Analysis, 2013
We describe the construction of an interpolating quadratic/linear rational spline S of smoothness class C 2 for a strictly convex (or strictly concave) function y on [a, b].

BMP antagonist CHRDL2 enhances the cancer stem‐cell phenotype and increases chemotherapy resistance in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Overexpression of CHRDL2 in colon cancer cells makes them more stem‐like and resistant to chemo‐ and radiotherapy. CHRDL2‐high cells have upregulation of the WNT pathway, genes involved in the DNA damage response (DDR) pathway and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT). This leads to quicker repair of damaged DNA and more cell migration.
