Same-sex partner bereavement in older women:an interpretative phenomenological analysis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Objectives: Due to the lack of existing literature, the current research explored experiences of same-sex partner bereavement in women over the age of 60. Method: Semi-structured interviews were conducted with eight women. Transcripts were analysed using

3D‐Printed Ion‐Conductive Hydrogels with Tunable Mechanical–Electrical Properties for Multimodal Sign Language Recognition

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work successfully fabricated ion‐conductive hydrogels with low hysteresis and high conductivity using 3D printing technology. By adjusting the component ratios, the properties of the hydrogels can be tuned to meet diverse sensing requirements. Finally, a multimodal sensing sign language recognition system was constructed based on this hydrogel ...

Transmission of Radio‐Frequency Waves and Nuclear Magnetic Resonance in Lanthanum Superhydrides

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
1H NMR and radio‐frequency transmission measurements of lanthanum superhydrides at 165 GPa reveals a transition at 260–280 K by a strong suppression of the signal intensity, significant changes in NMR spectra, including a dramatic decrease of the relaxation rate 1/T1T, and pronounced shielding effect, which may have a superconducting nature.

Superradiance and Broadband Emission Driving Fast Electron Dephasing in Open Quantum Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We uncover the physical origin of ultrafast electron dephasing in solid‐state high‐harmonic generation by simulating the Lindblad equation for the dissipative Hubbard model. Coexistence of Dicke superradiance and broadband emission is revealed, whose destructive interference shortens the effective scattering time and provides a unified picture of ...

‘It’s been a long haul, a big haul, but we’ve made it’: hepatitis C virus treatment in post-transplant patients with virus recurrence: An interpretative phenomenological analysis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
The lived experience of both interferon-based and new interferon-free treatments in patients with hepatitis C virus remains understudied. To explore their journey through hepatitis C virus treatment, we interviewed seven post-transplant patients with ...

Magneto‐X Effects in Magnetic Soft Materials and Their Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This review systematically explores magnetic soft materials (MSMs), a novel class of composites that transform under magnetic fields. It catalogs fundamental “Magneto‐X” effects, classifies materials by their matrix and magnetic fillers, and highlights transformative applications in soft robotics, biomedical devices, flexible electronics, etc. Finally,
