Physical modelling of propagation characteristics of blasting stress waves in rock masses with parallel and X-shaped intersecting joints [PDF]
During rock blasting in tunnel excavation and mining, the presence of jointed fractures significantly affects the construction safety and stability of surrounding rock masses.

Assessing the Validity of Computerized Algorithms for Determining Pulse Wave Velocity: A Clinical Study [PDF]
Introduction: Aortic stiffness, assessed through carotid-femoral pulse wave velocity (PWV), has been associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular events and mortality.

Supersymmetric intersecting branes on the waves [PDF]
We construct a general family of supersymmetric solutions in time- and space-dependent wave backgrounds in general supergravity theories describing single and intersecting p-branes embedded into time-dependent dilaton-gravity plane waves of an arbitrary (isotropic) profile, with the brane world-volume aligned parallel to the propagation direction of ...

KONSTRUKSI GELOMBANG KEJUT DAN GELOMBANG MENJARANG PADA ARUS KENDARAAN DI LALU LINTAS
In nonlinear conservation laws, there is a possibility of intersecting characteristic lines or even regions that are not traversed by characteristic lines. In regions where there are two or more characteristic lines, a gradien catastrophic phenomenon can

Classification of p-branes, NUTs, waves and intersections [PDF]
We give a full classification of the multi-charge supersymmetric $p$-brane solutions in the massless and massive maximal supergravities in dimensions $D\ge2$ obtained from the toroidal reduction of eleven-dimensional supergravity. We derive simple universal rules for determining the fractions of supersymmetry that they preserve.

Supersymmetric intersections of M-branes and pp-waves [PDF]
We study supersymmetric intersections of M2 and M5 branes with different pp-waves of M-theory. We consider first M-brane probes in the background of pp-waves and determine under which conditions the embedding is supersymmetric. We particularize our formalism to the case of pp-waves with 32, 24 and 20 supersymmetries.

Dynamic analysis of steel chimney considering rotational components of earthquake [PDF]
The present study deals with dynamic analysis of steel chimney taking rotational components of earthquake into account. The translational components of the earthquake have been used in order to obtain the rotational components of the earthquake, based on

On the intersection of sets of incoming and outgoing waves [PDF]
In the neighborhood of a boundary point, the solution of a first-order symmetric homogenous hyperbolic system is conveniently decomposed into fundamental waves solutions that are readily classified as outgoing, incoming, and stationary, or tangential.
