Intersections of S-branes with waves and monopoles
We construct intersections of S-branes with waves and Kaluza-Klein monopoles. There are several possible ways to add a monopole to an S-brane solution similar to p-branes. On the other hand, one may add a wave only to the transverse space of an S-brane unlike a p-brane where wave resides on its worldvolume. The metric function of the wave is a harmonic

Tracking an electronic wave packet in the vicinity of a conical intersection [PDF]
This work treats the impact of vibrational coherence on the quantum efficiency of a dissipative electronic wave packet in the vicinity of a conical intersection by monitoring the time-dependent wave packet projection onto the tuning and the coupling mode.

On a characteristic problem for a loaded hyperbolic equation
The paper studies a loaded hyperbolic equation with one - dimensional wave equation in its main part. In the loaded components there are two points, which are distributed respectively along a pair of intersecting characteristics at a constant speed. For

Analysis of flow in complex terrain using multi-Doppler lidar retrievals [PDF]
Strategically placed Doppler lidars (DLs) offer insights into flow processes that are not observable with meteorological towers. For this study we use intersecting range height indicator (RHI) scans of scanning DLs to create four virtual towers.

Evaluation of fatigue damage in a pure copper with nonlinear three-wave interaction
We investigated nonlinear ultrasonic characterization, nonlinear three-wave interaction, of the pure copper during fatigue with EMAR (Electromagnetic Acoustic Resonance), which was the combination with ultrasonic resonance and non-contacting transducer ...

Pulse wave velocity (PWV) has been used to evaluate arterial stiffness of large arteries. Here, we examine the feasibility of radial-digital PWV (RD-PWV) as a measure of stiffness of smaller arteries, and its response to changes in local mean arterial ...

Remark on modular weights in low-energy effective field theory from type II string theory
We revisit the modular weights in type IIB magnetized D-brane models. The simple analysis of wave function shows that the four-dimensional matter fields have the modular weight -1/2, but it may shift as one in type IIA intersecting D-brane models.

Shaking-table tests on seismic behavior of subway station intersecting the ground fissure
To investigate the seismic behavior of underground structures in the ground fissure site, a series of shaking-table tests on a subway station intersecting a ground fissure were carried out.
