Abstract We report new measurements of high‐energy protons ejected by the sun during the May 2024 Ganon superstorm. Our observations were made by the Neutron Spectrometer (NS) on the Psyche spacecraft, which was located at a solar distance of approximately 2 AU and a Sun‐Earth‐Probe separation angle of 75°.

Modeling the Detectability of Energetic Heliospheric Ions at Pluto During the New Horizons Flyby
Abstract We investigate the detectability of heliospheric helium ions at energies up to 100 keV by the New Horizons (NH) spacecraft during its flyby through Pluto's induced magnetosphere. The Pluto Energetic Particle Spectrometer Science Investigation energetic ion detector observed a reduction in their flux by an order of magnitude as the spacecraft ...

Radial Distribution of Electron Quasi-thermal Noise in the Outer Heliosphere
Voyager 1 and 2 are only the two spacecraft that have arrived and passed through the heliospheric boundaries. Based on the plasma data from the Voyager 2 spacecraft, the electron quasi-thermal noise (QTN) is investigated by using of the electron ...

The GBT Diffuse Ionized Gas Survey (GDIGS): Discrete Sources
The Green Bank Telescope Diffuse Ionized Gas Survey (GDIGS) traces ionized gas in the Galactic midplane by observing radio recombination line (RRL) emission from 4 to 8 GHz. The nominal survey zone is 32.°3 > ℓ > −5°, ∣ b ∣ < 0.°5. Here, we analyze GDIGS

Ryugu reference project: Recommendations from the measurement definition team
Abstract Sample return missions play a significant role in planetary science by providing pristine extraterrestrial materials. JAXA's Hayabusa2 and NASA's OSIRIS‐REx missions have returned samples from the C‐type asteroids Ryugu and Bennu, respectively. The chemical and mineralogical compositions of these samples closely resemble those of CI chondrites,

Plasma Physics Processes of the Interstellar Medium
We discuss the outstanding issues of the interstellar medium which will depend on the application of knowledge from plasma physics. We particularly advocate attention to recent developments in experimental plasma physics, and urge that the astronomical community consider support of these experiments in the next decade.

Exploring the Complex Heliotail Boundary by an Extended Level Set Approach
There is an ongoing debate regarding the shape of the heliotail. Studies have shown that the heliotail may be “comet-like,” extending for thousands of au. Some previous works defined the heliopause using magnetohydrodynamic variables, which only serve as

Abstract Xenon (Xe) is a heavy noble gas with intriguing chemical properties, such as having several stable isotopes and the ability to form compounds under extreme conditions. Despite the predictions based on cosmochemical models that suggest xenon should be relatively abundant in planetary reservoirs, empirical data indicate a significant depletion ...

Interstellar Enols Are Formed in Plasma Discharges of Alcohols
Laboratory low-pressure cold plasma discharges, which are used to simulate some hot core environments in the star-forming region, have been investigated by employing single-photon vacuum ultraviolet (VUV) photoionization mass spectrometry. Enols with two to four carbon atoms were detected in plasma discharges of alcohols, indicating that enols can ...
