Impact of through‐slice gradient optimization for dynamic slice‐wise shimming in the cervico‐thoracic spinal cord

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, Volume 94, Issue 3, Page 1090-1102, September 2025.
Abstract Purpose This study investigates the effectiveness of through‐slice gradient optimization in dynamic slice‐wise B0 shimming of the cervico‐thoracic spinal cord to enhance signal recovery in gradient‐echo (GRE) EPI sequences commonly used in functional MRI studies. Methods Six volunteers underwent MRI acquisitions with dynamic shim updating (DSU)

14. Discogenic Low Back Pain

open access: yesPain Practice, Volume 25, Issue 7, September 2025.
ABSTRACT Introduction Discogenic low back pain can be severely disabling, clinically challenging to diagnose, and expensive to treat. Disc degeneration is characterized by disc dehydration, which diminishes the ability of the disc to distribute pressure, making it more susceptible to damage, and leading to annular tears, fissures, and a higher ...

Eosinophils‐Induced Lumican Secretion by Synovial Fibroblasts Alleviates Cartilage Degradation via the TGF‐β Pathway Mediated by Anxa1 Binding

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 12, Issue 29, August 7, 2025.
Eosinophils play a crucial role in the progression of temporomandibular joint osteoarthritis (TMJOA). This study demonstrates that eosinophils, induced by OVA/IL‐5, promote Lumican secretion in the synovium, which binds to Annexin A1 in chondrocytes, inhibiting transforming growth factor β2 and Smad2/3 phosphorylation.

Associations Between Sum Scores or Combinations of MRI Findings in the Lumbar Spine and Low Back Pain‐Related Outcomes: A Systematic Review

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Pain, Volume 29, Issue 7, August 2025.
ABSTRACT Background and Objective Research on lumbar MRI findings has mainly focused on single MRI findings and their association with low back pain (LBP). Some studies suggest that summing or combining MRI findings may show stronger associations with LBP than single findings.
