Keyhole Foraminotomy Combined With Unilateral Laminotomy for Bilateral Decompression Under Biportal Endoscopic Spinal Surgery for the Treatment of Mixed‐Type Cervical Spondylosis

open access: yesOrthopaedic Surgery, Volume 18, Issue 6, Page 1278-1287, June 2026.
Under biportal endoscopic spine surgery, one‐stage decompression combining keyhole foraminotomy and unilateral laminotomy for bilateral decompression (ULBD) for mixed‐type cervical spondylopathy can achieve favorable clinical outcomes with minimal compromise of spinal stability.

Application of Ultrasonic Osteotome in Segmental Resection and Removal of Cage During Revision Surgery for Intervertebral Disc Space Infection After Lumbar Fusion

open access: yesOrthopaedic Surgery, Volume 18, Issue 6, Page 1216-1222, June 2026.
The ultrasonic osteotome‐based segmental excision method has the advantages of shorter and controllable operation time, lower blood loss, higher success rate of removal, and lower risk of nerve damage, making it uniquely valuable in the revision surgery for IVDS infection after lumbar fusion.

Distal Adding‐On After Selective Thoracolumbar/Lumbar Fusion for Lenke 5C AIS: The Role of Proximal Coronal Construct Position and Postoperative UIV Translation

open access: yesOrthopaedic Surgery, Volume 18, Issue 6, Page 1191-1202, June 2026.
In 74 Lenke 5C AIS patients undergoing selective thoracolumbar/lumbar fusion, distal adding‐on occurred in 18 (24%) at ≥ 2‐year follow‐up. Multivariable analysis identified postoperative upper instrumented vertebra translation as an independent factor associated with adding‐on, highlighting the importance of construct‐level coronal alignment beyond LIV

Numerical validation of a fiber reinforced hyperelastic constitutive model for human intervertebral annulus fibrosus

open access: yes
This paper validates a constitutive model for human intervertebral disc annulus fibrosus via numerical simulations on a lumber spine motion segment. This anisotropic hyperelastic fiber-reinforced constitutive model was previously developed by the authors.

Efficacy and Safety of the Use of Interspinous Spacers in the Treatment of Lumbar Spinal Stenosis: Mapping Gap and Scoping Review

open access: yesPain Practice, Volume 26, Issue 5, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Objectives Low back pain is a common pathology in the general population. In people over 60 years of age, it is associated with degenerative changes that cause narrowing of the vertebral canal. Its treatment includes conservative measures and even surgery with decompression and fusion.

Awake Percutaneous Cervical Cordotomy in Patients With Cancer: A Technical Report

open access: yesPain Practice, Volume 26, Issue 5, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Percutaneous cervical cordotomy (PCC) is a minimally invasive radiofrequency procedure for intractable unilateral cancer pain. Commonly performed under conscious sedation, awake PCC enables real‐time patient feedback, potentially improving targeting precision and expanding eligibility for patients in whom sedation poses risks ...
