An Edible H2O2 Biosensor for Gastrointestinal Metabolites and Peroxidase Enzyme Quantification

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
We present an edible biosensor for gastric fluid analysis that integrates a caffeic acid–horseradish peroxidase redox system into an edible electrolyte‐gated transistor. The device enables rapid, low‐volume detection of H2O2 and, with minimal modification, metabolites and enzyme activity in simulated gastrointestinal conditions.

Proteína degradável no rúmen na dieta de bovinos: digestibilidades total e parcial dos nutrientes e parâmetros ruminais Rumen degradable protein on bovine diet: total and partial nutrient digestibility and ruminal parameters

Fluorescent Nanosensor for Indole‐3‐Propionic Acid Detection in Gut Health Monitoring

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This work introduces a fluorescent nanosensor system with two optical modalities for detection of indole‐3‐propionic acid (IPA) gut metabolite: (1) blue‐emitting cationic conjugated polyelectrolyte (CP3) and (2) near‐infrared (NIR)‐emitting CP3‐wrapped single‐walled carbon nanotube (SWNT).

Decellularized Extracellular Matrix (dECM) in Tendon Regeneration: A Comprehensive Review

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Decellularized Extracellular Matrix (dECM) offers a promising solution by replicating the native tendon microenvironment and promoting regeneration. This review highlights advances in the decellularization methods, as well as their integration with emerging technologies and translational progress in tendon tissue engineering.

Bioactivity of tempe by inhibiting adhesion of ETEC to intestinal cells, as influenced by fermentation substrates and starter pure cultures [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Soya bean tempe is known for its bioactivity in reducing the severity of diarrhoea in piglets. This bioactivity is caused by an inhibition of the adhesion of enterotoxigenic Escherichia coli (ETEC) to intestinal cells.

Paracrine Factor Local Gradient‐Generating System for Engineering Perfusable Vascularized Hepatocyte Tissues with Perfusion‐Induced Proliferation

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A paracrine factor local gradient (PFLG)‐generating system enables microvessel penetration across 3D hepatocyte tissues. The resulting vascularized constructs recapitulate hepatic sinusoidal hepatocyte—endothelial contact architecture and enhance hepatic functions in vitro.

Difficulties encountered when treating coeliac disease : from molecule to miracle cure? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Dietary treatment of coeliac disease should be based on a sound theoretical knowledge of the different immunogenicities of various cereal grains, an appreciation of the limitations of the current Codex Alimentarius recommendations and an understanding of
