UNC45B Reduction With Aging: A Myofiber‐Intrinsic Promoting Factor for Sarcopenia
Aging reduces Unc45b expression in fast‐twitch muscle, concomitant with reduction in muscle contractile capacity and muscle mass in mice. Unc45b deficiency initially reduces depolarization‐induced force, followed by a decline in fast‐twitch muscle mass in adult mice.

ABSTRACT Objectives Prostate cancer prognostication has traditionally emphasized tumor‐related factors (e.g., Gleason score and metastatic burden). Emerging evidence suggests that physical (host) factors influence outcomes. This study evaluated whether physical factors, including myosteatosis and sarcopenia, are prognostic factors in patients with ...

ABSTRACT This study evaluated the influence of variance component (VC) estimates, obtained from different models and two relationship matrices, pedigree‐based (BLUP) and genomic information‐based (ssGBLUP), on genomic predictions of carcass traits in Montana composite cattle.

ABSTRACT Background and Aims GLP‐1 receptor agonists (GLP‐1RAs) promote significant weight loss, but their impact on muscle mass, strength, and quality in metabolic dysfunction–associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD), a condition prone to muscle impairment, remains uncertain.

Summary Carbonic anhydrases (CAs) are ubiquitous metalloenzymes that catalyze the reversible hydration of CO2, enabling fundamental processes in organisms across all domains of life. Among all CAs, the role of mitochondrial βCA remains poorly understood. Here, we identify a mitochondrial βCA, βCA6, as a key regulator of branched‐chain amino acid (BCAA)
