Synchronous lung cancer presenting with small cell carcinoma and squamous cell lung carcinoma: a case report

open access: yesMonaldi Archives for Chest Disease, 2023
Synchronous multiple primary lung cancers are separate tumors presenting at the same time with different histology. We present a rare case of a 64-year-old patient with a combination of small-cell lung carcinoma (SCLC) and squamous carcinoma in two ...

Too Old for Surgery? A Case Report of an Octogenarian Patient With Locally Advanced Lung Cancer Achieving Long‐Term Survival via Bilobectomy Followed by Adjuvant Targeted Therapy

open access: yesCancer Reports, Volume 9, Issue 8, August 2026.

Intravascular Pulmonary Artery Tumour Mimicking Nodal Recurrence and Inadvertently Sampled by EBUS‐TBNA: A Case Report

open access: yesRespirology Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 8, August 2026.
An intravascular pulmonary artery tumour mimicked nodal recurrence during post‐resection surveillance and was inadvertently sampled by EBUS‐TBNA. Synchronous lesion movement and increased bleeding were retrospective warning signs of pulmonary artery puncture, while sarcomatoid transformation and primary intimal sarcoma remained unresolved competing ...

The pattern of lymph node metastasis in peripheral pulmonary nodules patients and risk prediction models

open access: yesFrontiers in Surgery, 2022
BackgroundFor peripheral pulmonary nodules, the regularity of lymph node (LN) metastasis has not been studied. This study aimed to evaluate the metastasis pattern of intrapulmonary and relevant mediastinal lymph nodes in early-stage lung cancer, and ...

Small Cell Lung Cancer Associated With Cystic Airspace: A Case Report and Literature Review

open access: yesRespirology Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 8, August 2026.
We report a rare case of small cell lung cancer (SCLC) associated with a cystic airspace. Chest CT revealed a solid tumour component arising from the wall of a pre‐existing lung cyst. This case highlights the clinical importance of recognising cystic airspaces as potential sites for aggressive malignancies like SCLC.

Withania somnifera Root Extract Inhibits Mammary Cancer Metastasis and Epithelial to Mesenchymal Transition [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Though clinicians can predict which patients are at risk for developing metastases, traditional therapies often prove ineffective and metastatic disease is the primary cause of cancer patient death; therefore, there is a need to develop anti-metastatic ...

Highly Aggressive Intraparenchymal Solitary Fibrous Tumor of the Lung with Distant Metastasis: A Case Report and Review of CT and PET/CT Findings

open access: yesReports
Background and Clinical Significance: Solitary fibrous tumors (SFTs) arising from the lung parenchyma without any relation to the pleura are rare. Case Presentation: We report a case of highly aggressive intraparenchymal SFT of the lung in a 52-year-old ...
