A radioimmunoassay (RIA) method for measuring d-Norgestrel (d-Ng) in serum has been developed utilizing petroleum ether extraction, an antiserum raised against d-Norgestrel3-(O-carboxymethyl) oxime-e-aminocaproic acid — bovine serum albumin, d-Norgestrel-3-(O-carboxymethyl) imino- [125I]-iodohistamine, and dextran-coated charcoal separation.

Mid-trimester abortion induced by intravaginal administration of prostaglandin E2 suppositories

Mid-trimester abortion was successfully induced in 70 of 71 patients by administration of vaginal PGE2 suppositories. The one patient who failed to abort with this method was pregnant in the blind horn of a duplex uterus. The mean abortion time for the successful inductions was 11.88 hours.

The pharmacokinetics of triclosan was studied in sexually mature virgin Wistar rats. 14C-triclosan was injected either via the femoral vein, (iv, 5 mg/kg in polyethylene glycol-400) or into the vaginal orifice (ivg, 5 mg/kg in corn oil). Radioactivity was determined by liquid scintillation spectrophotometry.
