Ultra‐Radiostable Covalent Conformationally Interlocked Networks Enabling a Universal Radiometal‐Labeling Platform for Cancer Radioembolization

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Conjugated poly(imide dioxime)‐based microspheres establish a radiometal coordination‐driven conformational interlocked network with ultra‐high radiostability. This platform enables low‐temperature, multi‐radionuclide labeling for SPECT/PET/MRI imaging and radionuclide therapy. Mechanistic insights from EXAFS and DFT reveal enhanced stability, while in

Image_1_Nrf2 Plays a Protective Role Against Intravascular Hemolysis-Mediated Acute Kidney Injury.tiff

open access: yes, 2019
Massive intravascular hemolysis is associated with acute kidney injury (AKI). Nuclear factor erythroid-2-related factor 2 (Nrf2) plays a central role in the defense against oxidative stress by activating the expression of antioxidant proteins.

Paroxysmal Nocturnal Hemoglobinuria (PNH): A Comprehensive Review

open access: yesHaematology Journal of Bangladesh
Paroxysmal nocturnal haemoglobinuria (PNH) is a rare, acquired clonal hemopoietic stem cell disorder characterized by complement mediated chronic intravascular haemolysis, bone marrow failure and life-threatening thrombosis.

Acute pancreatitis due to massive hemolysis in a child with glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency: A case Report

open access: yesJournal of Pediatric Critical Care, 2023
The incidence of massive intravascular hemolysis causing pancreatitis is 25%; however, it is an often missed entity. Proinflammatory and immunoregulatory cytokines during hemolysis along with heme-induced neutrophil activation, chemoattraction, and ...

PEAR1 Promotes Glucose Metabolism Reprogramming in Sepsis‐Associated Acute Lung Injury via AARS1‐Mediated HIF‐1α Lactylation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study revealed that a PEAR1/HIF‐1α/ glycolysis/lactate/H3K18la positive feedback loop in PMVECs that drives the development of S‐ALI. Mechanistically, PEAR1 mediates the binding of HIF‐1α to AARS1, leading to the lactylation of HIF‐1α, the primary lactylation site of which is K172.

Haemolysis after Amplatzer device closure of ventricular septal defect [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Over the last few years, a vast variety of devices have been developed to close various septal defects through the transcatheter route. Haemolysis has been documented after Amplatzer device closure of patent ductus arteriousus, atrial septal defect ...

Exploring hemolysis due to paravalvular leakage in artificial heart valves [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Artificial heart valves require a surgical suture to keep them in place. These sutures can become infected or degrade over time, which can give rise to the phenomenon of paravalvular leakage.

Methemoglobinemia in Patient with G6PD Deficiency and SARS-CoV-2 Infection

open access: yesEmerging Infectious Diseases, 2020
We report a case of intravascular hemolysis and methemoglobinemia, precipitated by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 infection, in a patient with undiagnosed glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency.

An Avalanche Effect Nanomodulator Triggers Cascade Ferroptosis/Cuproptosis for Immunosuppressive Microenvironment Remodeling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A nanomodulator called L‐Arginine/lificiguat@Copper‐hollow Prussian blue@Calcium phosphate nanoparticles is constructed to launch a self‐amplifying “avalanche effect” in tumor cells. The ensuing cascade, triggered by the acidic tumor microenvironment and near‐infrared light, induces calcium overload, generates a reactive oxygen species and reactive ...

Scrub Typhus Infection Precipitating Hemolysis in a Patient With G6PD Deficiency: A Case Report

open access: yesClinical Case Reports
Glucose‐6‐phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD) deficiency is a well‐known red blood cell enzymopathy and a cause of intravascular hemolysis. This case report presents a child with underlying G6PD deficiency who experienced an acute episode of extensive ...
