Intravitreal brimonidine inhibits form-deprivation myopia in guinea pigs

open access: yesEye and Vision, 2021
Background The use of ocular hypotensive drugs has been reported to attenuate myopia progression. This study explores whether brimonidine can slow myopia progression in the guinea pig form-deprivation (FD) model.

CHANGES IN PLASMA VASCULAR ENDOTHELIAL GROWTH FACTOR LEVEL AFTER INTRAVITREAL INJECTION OF BEVACIZUMAB, AFLIBERCEPT, OR RANIBIZUMAB FOR DIABETIC MACULAR EDEMA

open access: yesRetina, 2017
Purpose: The aim of this study was to investigate the changes in plasma vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) level depending on the severity of diabetic retinopathy (DR) or diabetic macular edema (DME) and after intravitreal injection of bevacizumab,

DNA Nanoflower LYTACs Enable Efficient VEGF Degradation and Verteporfin Loading for Combined Therapy of Wet Age‐Related Macular Degeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An integrated approach that combines a DNA nanoflower VEGF degrader with photodynamic therapy is developed for the treatment of wet age‐related macular degeneration, which reduces the risk of VEGF reactivation‐induced CNV recurrence and minimizes the systemic side effects associated with photodynamic therapy.

Photothermal Transport for Guiding Nanoparticles Through the Vitreous Humor

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Nanosecond laser irradiation of the clinically approved dye indocyanine green (ICG) enables light‐guided nanoparticle transport within the vitreous humor. The combined use of ICG and pulsed laser illumination induces localized convection and thermophoresis, directing particles toward illuminated regions.

Antibioprophylaxis in Prevention of Endophthalmitis in Intravitreal Injection: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2016
Despite endophthalmitis being the most feared complication, antibioprophylaxis remains controversial in intravitreal injections. Therefore, we conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis on the effects of antibioprophylaxis in intravitreal injections
