Subconjunctival anaesthesia for intravitreal injections [PDF]
Sir, We read with interest the paper by Lyall et al,1 who report the results of an observational study of infective endophthalmitis in the United Kingdom following intravitreal anti-VEGF injection. Using 200 patients selected from 10 control centres, the authors identified 3 endophthalmitis patients, compared to 1 control patient, who had ...

A thermo‐responsive poly(2‐oxazoline)‐based injectable formulation is developed to modulate intraocular pressure (IOP) in both normal and hypotonic eyes. By adjusting the PEG content, the aggregation behavior is finely tuned, enabling IOP elevation without long‐term deposition.

Topical antibiotics and intravitreal injections [PDF]
AbstractThere is increasing evidence that topical antibiotics, given before and/or after intravitreal injections, are ineffective in preventing endophthalmitis and are possibly harmful. In addition to the lack of efficacy and increased development of resistant organisms, the use of topical antibiotics adds significantly to the cost of delivering ...

This work introduces photo‐crosslinkable tyraminated poly(vinyl alcohol)‐gelatin (PVA‐GT) hydrogels as tunable injectable platforms for tissue engineering and growth factor delivery applications. This schematic illustrates the two developed hydrogel formulations and the experimental workflow used to evaluate their physico‐chemical properties in vitro ...

Intravitreal silicone oil droplet after intravitreal injection
Currently, anti-vascular endothelial growth factor agents (anti-VEGF) are frequently used in the treatment of diseases such as age-related macular degeneration and diabetic macular edema. In our study, we discussed three cases in which intravitreal silicone oil droplets were detected during the follow-up after intravitreal anti-VEGF agent ...

Aptamer‐Based Delivery Systems for VEGF and NGF Modulation in Ocular Therapies
Aptamer‐based delivery systems targeting NGF and VEGF hold significant potential for precise and sustained treatment of complex diseases affecting both the anterior and posterior segments of the eye. This review critically summarizes current strategies for NGF and VEGF delivery as well as VEGF sequestration, providing a clinical perspective on how ...
