Self-Calibration for Star Sensors
Aiming to address the chicken-and-egg problem in star identification and the intrinsic parameter determination processes of on-orbit star sensors, this study proposes an on-orbit self-calibration method for star sensors that does not depend on star ...

The intrinsic "sense" of stochastic differential equations
A free choice of the integration sense would lead to the paradox that the number of possible equations (thus of solutions for a given model) can vary under a mere change of the variables. This is shown by a specific change which neutralizes the sense (by establishing a constant coupling with the noise).

ZnS‐MXene‐TiO2 nanocomposite heterojunction for photocatalytic decomposition of this methylene blue dye (MB) greatly improves light absorption, charge separation, and active site area. Two‐dimensional MXene forms nanocomposites by easily combining them with 0D (quantum dots), 1D (tube and wire), 2D (plane and sheet), and 3D (particle and lamellar ...

Carbon‐free inert anodes are essential for decarbonizing aluminum electrolysis. This study investigates a recyclate‐based MgO‐316L steel composite anode tested under galvanostatic Hall–Héroult conditions in cryolite at 1000°C. Microstructural analysis reveals selective MgO fluorination, spinel and oxide layer formation, electrolyte infiltration, and ...

The wettability of aluminum droplets (Al) on different copper substrates (Cu), where liquid Al spreads on solid Cu surfaces to form a liquid–solid interface, is studied numerically and experimentally. The experimental and numerical results show good agreement in the fast‐spreading regime.

Evaluating Energy Absorption Performance of Filled Lattice Structures
Maximum stress must be considered to robustly evaluate energy absorber designs. This approach was applied to compare all types of absorbers in a single Ashby diagram and determine the utility of filling lattice voids with a second material. High‐performance fillers can improve the performance of lattices that are limited by buckling or catastrophic ...

A general elliptic equation with intrinsic operator
Existence and bound of a solution is established for a general elliptic equation with intrinsic operator subject to Dirichlet boundary condition. This provides a sufficient condition to the fundamental question if there is a solution belonging to a prescribed ball in the function space.

Intrinsic parameters and stability of differential-delay equations
Intrinsic parameters and stability of differential-delay equations are considered. The advantage of the intrinsic parametrization are commented. Theorems are proved on the basis of the introduction of probability delay measures, and examples are presented to illustrate the theory.
