Increasing and fluctuating resource availability enhances invasional meltdown

open access: yesEcology
AbstractExotic plant invaders can promote others via direct or indirect facilitation, known as “invasional meltdown.” Increased soil nutrients can also promote invaders by increasing their competitive impacts, but how this might affect meltdown is unknown.

Longitudinal circulating tumor DNA profiling in patients with advanced endometrial cancer using an off‐the‐shelf targeted NGS panel

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Intratumour heterogeneity complicates precision management of advanced endometrial cancer. Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) offers a minimally invasive strategy to capture tumor evolution and therapeutic resistance. Here, we compare tumor‐agnostic NGS with tumor‐informed ddPCR, outlining their relative sensitivity, concordance, and clinical implications ...

Importancia de la integración clonal en las invasiones biológicas

open access: yesEcosistemas, 2015
Un aspecto clave en el estudio de las invasiones biológicas es el de explicar por qué algunas especies se convierten en invasoras mientras que otras no.

Metastasis on pause: How dormant tumor cells stay hidden within the tumor microenvironment and evade immune surveillance

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dormant cancer cells can hide in distant organs for years, evading treatment and the immune system. This review highlights how signals from the surrounding tissue and immune environment keep these cells inactive or trigger their reawakening. Understanding these mechanisms may help develop therapies to eliminate or control dormant cells and prevent ...

Introducción a las invasiones biológicas

open access: yes, 2010

Clinical performance of the urine‐based TERT promoter AbsoluteQ Digital PCR for non‐invasive detection of bladder cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A urine‐based digital PCR assay targeting two hotspot TERT promoter variants detected bladder cancer with high sensitivity and no false positives in this case–control cohort. The streamlined AbsoluteQ workflow outperformed Sanger sequencing and supports non‐invasive molecular testing for bladder cancer detection.

Las invasiones indoeuropeas, problema estratigráfico

open access: yesZephyrus, 2009
Los lingüistas, en el tema de las invasiones indoeuropeas en la Península, hemos llegado, después de casi medio siglo de investigaciones, a algunas conclusiones que parecen seguras. Naturalmente que la crítica de los arqueólogos y la aportación por ellos

Developmental programmes drive cellular plasticity, disease progression and therapy resistance in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that lung adenocarcinomas exploit developmental branching morphogenesis to acquire a therapy resistant basal‐like tumour cell state. This process was found to be regulated by combined TP53 loss‐of‐function and type‐I interferon signalling, identifying a novel axis for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery.

Loss of IGF‐1R impairs DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin leading to defective end‐joining

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
IGF‐1R promotes radioresistance by facilitating DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin, enabling non‐homologous end‐joining (NHEJ) repair of double‐strand breaks. Inhibition or loss of IGF‐1R disrupts this recruitment to damage sites, driving compensatory reliance on microhomology‐mediated end‐joining (MMEJ) repair.

Análisis cuantitativo de la investigación en invasiones biológicas en Chile: tendencias y desafíos Quantitative analysis of the research in biological invasions in Chile: Trends and challenges
