An application of the Sakai's theorem to the characterization of H*-algebras

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 1995
The well-known Sakai's theorem, which states that every derivation acting on a von Neumann algebra is inner, is ,used to obtain a new elegant proof of the Saworotnow's characterization theorem for associative H*-algebras via two-sided H*-algebras.

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Fully *-prime rings with involution

open access: yes, 2018
Some known results on fully prime rings and almost fully prime rings are extended to the category of rings with involution. In particular, various properties of fully *-prime involution rings are presented, a classification of fully *-prime involution

Rings with involution and chain conditions

open access: yes, 1993
The structure of involution rings with d.c.c. and a.c.c. on ∗-biideals is investigated. If an involution ring A has d.c.c. on ∗-biideals, then its Jacobson radical is nilpotent, and A is an artinian ring with artinian radical. If an involution ring has a.

DentC_BSFLNet: Boundary Refined and Spatial Adaptive Feature Learning Network for Enhanced Dental Caries Segmentation

open access: yesIEEE Access
The accurate segmentation of dental caries from orthopantomograms (OPGs) is significant for early diagnosis and efficient treatment planning. However, the challenges such as noise artifacts, variations in image quality, subtle boundary transitions remain

The planar cell polarity protein Vangl2 interacts with the PDZ‐domains of Scribble but not with a unique PDZ‐like domain in Inturned

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Pattern Avoidability with Involution [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
An infinte word w avoids a pattern p with the involution t if there is no substitution for the variables in p and no involution t such that the resulting word is a factor of w.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Normality in group rings

open access: yes, 2008
Let KG be the group ring of a group G over a commutative ring K with unity. The rings KG are described for which xx(sigma)=x(sigma)x for all x=∑(g∈G)alfa(g)g∈KG, where x↦x(sigma)=∑(g∈G)alfa(g)f(g)sigma(g) is an involution of KG; here f:G→U(K) is a ...
