INFLUENCE OF THE ALKALI METAL CATIONS ON THE REDUCTION OF IODATE ION ON MERCURY IN ALKALINE SOLUTION

The Journal of Physical Chemistry, 1962
Abstract : Abnormal overvoltages were found in the course of this work for the reduction of iodate on mercury in alkaline solution in presence of Li(+). These results are described and interpreted. It is suggested that addition of Li(+) to IO3(-) affects in some way the hydration shell of that ion and renders reduction easier.

Millicoulometric determination of n-values in the polarographic reduction of cadmium and iodate ions

Journal of Electroanalytical Chemistry (1959), 1965
Abstract Apparatus and procedural criteria are described which make millicoulometry an accurate and reliable technique. A micro-cell is described which permits the complete, exclusion of oxygen and causes half the initial moles of electroactive species in a 100-λ volume to be electrolyzed in 30–60 min.

Iodate Reduction byShewanella oneidensisDoes Not Involve Nitrate Reductase

Geomicrobiology Journal, 2018
ABSTRACTMicrobial iodate (IO3−) reduction is a major component of iodine biogeochemical cycling and is the basis of alternative strategies for remediation of iodine-contaminated environments.

Reduction Characteristics of Iodate Ion on Copper: Application to Copper Chemical Mechanical Polishing

Journal of Applied Electrochemistry, 2004
Potentiodynamic and potentiostatic polarization, and the rotating disk electrode technique were used to study the reduction characteristics of iodate (IO3−) ion on copper (Cu). Depending on the relative concentrations of IO3− and H+ two pH regimes were observed.
