Native Lignin Migration and Clustering in Wood: Superhydrophobic, Antimold, and Tribonegative Layers for Rain‐Driven Electrification

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study proposes a sustainable solution for rainwater‐driven energy harvesting by harnessing the intrinsic properties of lignin in wood. The first demonstration of an all‐wood tribonegative material for liquid–solid triboelectric nanogenerators is presented, eliminating the need for fluorine‐containing polymers and functional additives. Abstract The

Recent Advances in Microfluidics-Based Chromatography—A Mini Review

open access: yesSeparations, 2020
Microfluidics-based liquid chromatography is based on the miniaturization of the different types of liquid chromatography (LC) systems (e.g., affinity, adsorption, size exclusion, ion exchange) on a microchip to perform on-chip separation of different ...

Optical Characterizations and Electronic Devices of Nearly Pure (10,5) Single-Walled Carbon Nanotubes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
It remains an elusive goal to achieve high performance single-walled carbon nanotube (SWNTs) field effect transistors (FETs) comprised of only single chirality SWNTs. Many separation mechanisms have been devised and various degrees of separation demonstrated, yet it is still difficult to reach the goal of total fractionation of a given nanotube mixture

Purification of Erythropoietin by Ion-Exchange Chromatography.

open access: yesExperimental Biology and Medicine, 1958
Abstract : A method is given for the purification of erythropoietin from the filtrate of acidified, boiled plasma prepared from phenylhydrazine anemic rabbits utilizing, DEAE-cellulose ion-exchange columns. The active erythropoietic factor thus prepared has been partially characterized and shown to be an acidic glycoprotein of low molecular weight.

Harnessing Interfacial Cl− Ions for Concurrent Formate Production at Industrial Level via CO2 Reduction and Methanol Oxidation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The replacement of the anodic OER in CO2RR with energy‐saving methanol oxidation reaction and the creation of a favorable microenvironment through interfacial Cl− ions enable concurrent formate production at industrial‐level current densities. Abstract The efficient electrocatalytic conversion of CO2 to formate is often impeded by the high energy ...

Sulfanilic acid-modified chitosan mini-spheres and their application for lysozyme purification from egg white [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
A cation exchange matrix with zwitterionic and multimodal properties was synthesized by a simple reaction sequence coupling sulfanilic acid to a chitosan based support. The novel chromatographic matrix was physico-chemically characterized by ss-NMR and ζ

Covalent Adaptable Networks with Associative Siloxane Exchange Enabled by Amide‐Based Internal Catalysis: Designing for Reprocessability and Extrudability by Increasing the Cross‐Link Density

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Internally catalyzed siloxane dynamic chemistry is demonstrated resulting from amides covalently linked through alkyl chains to siloxanes. The alkyl length in the siloxane‐containing monomer tunes the network cross‐link density. Siloxane exchange dynamics are faster with increasing cross‐link density, because associative exchange is second order in ...
