Ammonium Salts as Curing Agents to Obtain Ionic Epoxy Resins With a Thermoplastic‐to‐Thermoset Transition

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Ionic epoxy networks are prepared using ammonium salts as hardeners, leading to a two‐stage curing process with a thermoplastic‐like intermediate. This uncommon behavior enables extrusion and fabrication of thermoplastic prepregs that can be cured into thermoset composites.

The Role of Ion Exchange Chromatography in Purification and Characterization of Molecules

open access: yes, 2012
Adsorption chromatography depends upon interactions of different types between solute molecules and ligands immobilized on a chromatography matrix. The first type of interaction to be successfully employed for the separation of macromolecules was that ...

Synthesis of Pyridinium Amphiphiles Used for Transfection and Some Characteristics of Amphiphile/DNA Complex Formation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
Pyridinium amphiphiles have found practical use for the delivery of DNA into cells. Starting from 4-methylpyridine, a general synthesis has been devised for the production of pyridinium amphiphiles which allows variation in both the hydrophobic part and ...

Determination of the tryptophan content of proteins by ion exchange chromatography of alkaline hydrolysates.

open access: yesJournal of Biological Chemistry, 1972
A study of the variables in techniques for alkaline hydrolysis of proteins and for chromatographic analysis of the products has led to a method for the accurate determination of tryptophan. Quantitative recoveries of tryptophan are obtained when proteins
