Ion-association extraction of some nitrophenolate ions with tetrabutylammonium ion (TBA(+)) into nonionic surfactant micelle has been investigated through the changes in the electrophoretic mobility. Nonionic surfactants of Brij 35 and Brij 58 were used as micelle substrates to which the ion-associates formed could distribute.

MgSO4 ION association in seawater
Marine Chemistry, 1982Examination of the consequences of the stoichiometric association constant K∗a = 41.7 for MgSO4 in seawater as advocated by Johnson and Pytkowicz (1979) leads to a thermodynamic association constant Ka = 212.6, a value 32% greater than KA = 160 derived from conductance data.

Association reactions of trimethylsilyl ions
Organic Mass Spectrometry, 1991AbstractAdduct ions, [M + (CH3)3Si]+, were produced by bimolecular association reactions of trimethylsilyl ions, (CH3)3Si+, with acetone, cydohexaoone, anisole, dimethyl ether, 2,5‐dimethylfuran, 2‐methylfuran and furan in ion cyclotron resonance experiments at 300 K and at pressures of ∼10−7 Torr (1 Torr = 133.3 Pa).

Ion-Molecule Association Reactions
1982The overall reaction for the general ion-molecule association process is $${A^ + } + B\xrightarrow{{{k_2}}}A{B^ + }$$ (1) where k2 is the second-order rate constant for formation of the association product AB. In this paper we will deal with association reactions which proceed through the formation of a long-lived excited intermediate complex

Ion strength, ion association, and solubility
Journal of Chemical Education, 1962This article describes two experiments in which attention is called to certain modifications of the ionic strength principle in applying the Debye-Huckel law expression to solubility data. The experiments are designed to demonstrate that the solubility of calcium sulfate increases in solutions containing certain 1-1 salts and to account for the ...

Disorders associated with Ion Channels
Journal of Clinical and Medical Reviews, 2022Muscular wasting, a lack of muscle tone, or sporadic muscle paralysis are the most common symptoms of ion channel diseases, which are linked to defects in the proteins known as ion channels. Ion channels are diverse and differ with respect to how they open and close (gating) and their ionic conductance and selectivity (permeation).

Nitrate ion association with Nd3+
Monatshefte fr Chemie Chemical Monthly, 1986The overall stability constantsK1 andK2 of NdNO 3 2+ and Nd(NO3) 2 + complexes were determined (K1=1.77;K2=1.28) using an extraction method with tri-n-butyl phosphate as the extractant. The ratio β1/β2 of the stepwise stability constants is discussed. It was established that the Nd(NO3) 2 + complex was an outer-sphere ion pair.

Ion association in natural brines
Chemical Geology, 1969Abstract Natural brines, both surface and subsurface, are highly associated aqueous solutions. Ion complexes in brines may be ion pairs in which the cation remains fully hydrated and the bond between the ions is essentially electrostatic, or coordination complexes in which one or more of the hydration water molecules are replaced by covalent bonds to

Ion-molecule association in acrylonitrile
International Journal of Mass Spectrometry, 1999Acrylonitrile (propernenitrile or vinyl cyanide) polymerizes readily via a radical mechanism in solution at room temparature. The propensity to polymerize is sufficiently strong that it is usual to add a radical scavenger to the solution to prevent polymerization when oxygen (an inhibitor) is removed.

Journal of Molecular Liquids, 2000
Abstract A simple electrolyte in a polar solvent is modelled by a mixture of polar hard spheres and charged hard spheres of different sizes. The model includes ion-ion, ion-dipole and dipole-dipole associations. The analytical solution of the associative mean spherical approximation (AMSA) for this model is derived in its full extent.
