Optical properties of AlGaN nanowires synthesized via ion beam techniques
AlGaN plays a vital role in hetero-structure high electron mobility transistor by employing a two-dimensional electron gas and as electron blocking layer in the multi quantum well light emitting diodes.

High‐frequency (HF) welding of steel is limited by oxide inclusions that degrade weld quality. This study demonstrates, for the first time, the integration of a nonthermal Ar/H2 dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) plasma jet into HF welding. Local plasma treatment provides effective shielding and in‐situ oxide reduction, resulting in markedly fewer and ...

Surface nanostructuring of titanium alloy dental screws by 10 keV Ar+ irradiation
The influence of 10 keV Ar+ ion irradiation on the surface topography of Ti–6Al–4V dental screws was investigated. The surface facing the ion beam became uniformly covered with nanoprotrusions, the size of which increased with the ion fluence.

Nanoindentation Criteria for Combinatorial Thin Film Libraries
Thin‐film material libraries are compositional spreads used for screening composition‐structure‐property relationships. Nanoindentation is often used to characterize mechanical behavior across these systems, however variations in methodology are widespread.

Investigation of microstructure defects in EUROFER97 under He+/Fe3+ dual ion beam irradiation
Fusion like conditions for reduced activation ferritic/martensitic steels in the first wall are simulated with single Fe3+ and He+/Fe3+ dual ion beam irradiation of EUROFER97 at the Jannus laboratory, CEA Saclay, introducing a damage of 16 dpa and a ...

Effect of irradiation temperature and ion flux on electrical isolation of GaN
We study the evolution of sheet resistance of n-type GaN epilayers irradiated with MeV ¹H and ¹²C ions. Results show that both implantation temperature (varied from 77 up to 423 K) and ion beam flux affect the process of electrical isolation in the case ...
