Predictions for squeezed back-to-back correlations of $\phi\phi$ and $K^+K^-$ in high-energy heavy-ion collisions by event-by-event hydrodynamics

open access: yes, 2016
We calculate the squeezed back-to-back correlation (BBC) functions of $\phi \phi$ and $K^+K^-$ for heavy-ion collisions at RHIC and LHC energies, using ($2+1$)-dimensional hydrodynamics with fluctuating initial conditions. The BBC functions averaged over

Cell surface interactome analysis identifies TSPAN4 as a negative regulator of PD‐L1 in melanoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using cell surface proximity biotinylation, we identified tetraspanin TSPAN4 within the PD‐L1 interactome of melanoma cells. TSPAN4 negatively regulates PD‐L1 expression and lateral mobility by limiting its interaction with CMTM6 and promoting PD‐L1 degradation.

Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

Implementation of Design Changes Towards a More Reliable, Hands-off Magnetron Ion Source

open access: yes, 2018
As the main $H^{-}$ ion source for the accelerator complex, magnetron ion sources have been used at Fermilab since the 1970s. At the offline test stand, new R&D is carried out to develop and upgrade the present magnetron-type sources of $H^{-}$ ions of ...

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve

Crucial parameters for precise copy number variation detection in formalin‐fixed paraffin‐embedded solid cancer samples

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that copy number variations (CNVs) can be reliably detected in formalin‐fixed paraffin‐embedded (FFPE) solid cancer samples using ultra‐low‐pass whole‐genome sequencing, provided that key (pre)‐analytical parameters are optimized.

Ion source of DMS-01 scientific equipment for «AIST no 2» small spacecraft

open access: yesВестник Самарского университета: Аэрокосмическая техника, технологии и машиностроение, 2016
The main requirements imposed upon ion sources for on-board time-of-flight mass spectrometers are considered in the paper. An approximate formula to calculate the ionization cross section of an analyte substance is given.

Ion sources at GANIL [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
International audienceThe GANIL produces since many years heavy ion beams with Electron Cyclotron Resonance ion sources. Different facilities have been constructed during the last years in order to allow experiments in a large range of energy (from some ...
