Testing and characterisation of large high-energy lithium-ion batteries for electric and hybrid electric vehicles [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
This thesis considers the drivetrain and battery system requirements of Hybrid Electric Vehicles. The data herein proves that a series hybrid electric drivetrain with Lithium-ion batteries and plug-in recharge promises to be viable and sustainable ...

Single residues in the outer pore of TRPV1 and TRPV3 have temperature-dependent conformations. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2013
Thermosensation is mediated by ion channels that are highly temperature-sensitive. Several members of the family of transient receptor potential (TRP) ion channels are activated by cold or hot temperatures and have been shown to function as temperature ...

Uncertainties in the heliosheath ion temperatures [PDF]

open access: yesAnnales Geophysicae, 2018
Abstract. The Voyager plasma observations show that the physics of the heliosheath is rather complex and that the temperature derived from observation particularly differs from expectations. To explain this fact, the temperature in the heliosheath should be based on κ distributions instead of Maxwellians because the former allows for much higher ...

An epithelial GPR35 isoform supports tumor‐associated transcriptional and metabolic phenotypes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
GPR35 generates two functionally distinct isoforms with previously unresolved roles. GPR35‐short mediates immune‐cell chemotaxis, while GPR35‐long is enriched in colorectal cancer epithelium, where it supports increased metabolism, proliferation, and tumor‐associated transcriptional programs.

Ion-size effects on cuprate High Temperature Superconductors [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The cuprates are a family of strongly electronically-correlated materials which exhibit high-temperature superconductivity. There has been a vast amount of research into the cuprates since their discovery in 1986, yet despite this research effort, the ...

A Study on Selectivity and Temperature Coefficients of the Chloride Ion Sensors With RuOx Thin Film

open access: yesIEEE Journal of the Electron Devices Society, 2019
This paper investigated the response time, chloride selectivity, and temperature coefficients of the arrayed flexible ruthenium oxide chloride ion sensor in sodium chloride (NaCl) solutions with concentrations from 10-5 M to 1 M.

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Strategies for electrolyte modification of lithium-ion batteries under low-temperature environments [PDF]

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences
Because of their high energy density, high voltage platform, extended cycle life, lack of memory effect, low self-discharge rate, environmental friendliness, and quick charging, lithium-ion batteries, or LIBs, are a vital component of contemporary ...

CCDC80 suppresses high‐grade serous ovarian cancer migration via negative regulation of B7‐H3

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PAX8 is a lineage‐specific master regulator of transcription in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) progression. We show for the first time that PAX8 facilitates proliferation and metastasis by repressing the cell autonomous tumor suppressor CCDC80 and inducing B7‐H3 expression.

Low-temperature positron annihilation study of B+-ion implanted PMMA [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
© 2014 AIP Publishing LLC. Temperature dependent positron annihilation lifetime spectroscopy (PALS) measurements in the range of 50-300K are carried out to study positronium formation in 40 KeV B+-ion implanted polymethylmethacrylate (B:PMMA) with two ...
