PHOTOPiC: Calculate photo-ionization functions and model coefficients for gas discharge simulations [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2020
A program to compute photo-ionization functions and fitting parameters for an efficient photo-ionization model is presented. The code integrates the product of spectrum emission intensity, the photo-ionization yield and the absorption coefficient to calculate the photo-ionization function of each gas and the total photo-ionization function of the ...

The CDK12–BRCA1 signaling axis mediates dinaciclib‐associated radiosensitivity through p53‐mediated cellular senescence

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dinaciclib blocks CDK12 activity, leading to downregulation of BRCA1, and probably other proteins involved in homologous recombination, promoting nonhomologous end joining. In this scenario, the presence of ionising radiation triggers a p53‐dependent senescent response that yields increased radiosensitivity. Pan‐cyclin‐dependent‐kinase (CDK) inhibitors

Magnetic Reconnection in Non-Equilibrium Ionization Plasma [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
We have studied the effect of time-dependent ionization and recombination processes on magnetic reconnection in the solar corona. Petschek-type steady reconnection, in which model the magnetic energy is mainly converted at the slow-mode shocks, was assumed. We carried out the time-dependent ionization calculation in the magnetic reconnection structure.

SKA1 promotes oncogenic properties in oral dysplasia and oral squamous cell carcinoma, and augments resistance to radiotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The mitosis‐related gene SKA1 was among 629 genes consistently dysregulated in OSCC across nine public gene expression datasets. In OSCC cell lines, SKA1 promoted proliferation and migration, enhanced radioresistance, and reduced radiation‐induced senescence.

The Atmospheric Influence on Cosmic-Ray-Induced Ionization and Absorbed Dose Rates

open access: yesUniverse, 2023
When high-energy particles originating from space penetrate the atmosphere, they may interact with atoms and molecules, initiating air showers composed of secondary and tertiary particles propagating towards the ground.

Plasma lipidomic and metabolomic profiles in high‐grade glioma patients before and after 72‐h presurgery water‐only fasting

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Presurgery 72‐h fasting in GB patients leads to adaptations of plasma lipids and polar metabolites. Fasting reduces lysophosphatidylcholines and increases free fatty acids, shifts triglycerides toward long‐chain TGs and increases branched‐chain amino acids, alpha aminobutyric acid, and uric acid.

RADAR INVESTIGATIONS OF THE AEOLIAN SAND AND DUST TRANSPORTING MANIFESTATIONS IN DESERT AREAS [PDF]

open access: yesРадиофизика и электроника, 2015
Aeolian processes transporting sand and dust is a powerful erosive force that shapes the structure of the surface of the vast territories and loads the atmosphere with aerosols suspended dust spread by wind over long distances.

Analysis of Combination Frequencies Arising from the Ionization of Gases by Multicolor Femtosecond Pulses

open access: yesPhotonics, 2022
Ionization-induced multiwave mixing is attracting much interest nowadays due to the possibility of generating short pulses of secondary radiation over a very wide spectral range, from terahertz to far ultraviolet. This paper presents an analytical method

Targeting the AKT/mTOR pathway attenuates the metastatic potential of colorectal carcinoma circulating tumor cells in a murine xenotransplantation model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dual targeting of AKT and mTOR using MK2206 and RAD001 reduces tumor burden in an intracardiac colon cancer circulating tumor cell xenotransplantation model. Analysis of AKT isoform‐specific knockdowns in CTC‐MCC‐41 reveals differentially regulated proteins and phospho‐proteins by liquid chromatography coupled mass spectrometry. Circulating tumor cells
