Effect of a Ganglioblocker, Mecamylamine, on Muscle Ionotropic Cholinoreceptors of Rats
Neurophysiology, 2005We studied the effect of mecamylamine (MA), a preparation well known to possess a wide range of therapeutic action, on currents induced in rat muscle cells by application of acetylcholine. Mecamylamine decreased the amplitude of these currents in a dose-dependent manner.

Long-term Effects of JL 13, a Potential Atypical Antipsychotic, on Ionotropic Glutamate Receptors
Journal of Molecular Neuroscience, 2007Changes in ionotropic glutamate (Glu) N-methyl-d-aspartic acid (NMDA), and 2-amino-3-(3-hydroxy-5-methyl-isoxazol-4-yl)propionic acid (AMPA) receptors in rat forebrain regions were autoradiographically quantified after continuous infusion of JL 13 [(5-(4-methylpiperazin-1-yl)-8-chloro-pyrido[2,3-b][1,5]benzoxazepine fumarate] for 28 days using osmotic ...

[Adaptation of electropic and ionotropic vagal effects on the isolated rabbit atrium].
Acta biologica et medica Germanica, 1976Long-time vagal stimulation induces a decrease of electrotropic and inotropic effects on the isolated rabbit atrium in spite of constant stimulation frequency. This decrease is defined as effect adaptation. To compensate this effect adaptation, the n. vagus was stimulated with increasing stimulation frequency.

Effects of post-mortem delay on subunits of ionotropic glutamate receptors in human brain
Molecular Brain Research, 2000The effect of post-mortem delay on the stability of the protein subunits that combine to form NMDA and AMPA type glutamate receptors has been assessed in samples of human brain tissue. While most of the subunits (i.e. GluR1, GluR2/3, GluR4, NR1) appear to be stable for up to 18 h post-mortem, the NR2A and NR2B subunits appear to be proteolyzed rapidly ...

The ionotropic glutamate receptors N-methyl-d-aspartate (NMDA) and alpha-amino-3-hydroxy-5-methyl-4-isoxazolepropionic acid (AMPA) receptors are present peripherally in the primary sensory afferent neurons innervating the viscera. Multiple studies have reported roles of glutamate receptors in gastric functions.

Effects of Deep Cooling and Re-Warming on Ionotropic Glutamatergic Receptors In Vitro
Bulletin of Experimental Biology and Medicine, 2016We studied the effects of cooling to -10°C and re-warming to 37°C on slices of rat olfactory cortex. The amplitudes of action potential in the lateral olfactory tract and excitatory postsynaptic potential activated by AMPA recovered during slow cooling/re-warming (0.1°C/min), while during rapid cooling/re-warming (9°C/min), they surpassed the control ...

Experiments on mice were performed to study the ability of monocationic and dicationic adamantane and phenylcyclohexyl derivatives to prevent the development of kindling induced by i.p. administration of pentylenetetrazol (Corasol, 35 mg/kg). The monocationic phenylcyclohexyl derivative IEM-1921 effectively slowed the development of kindling, this ...
