Loss analysis of the IPMSM for HEV
Digests of the 2010 14th Biennial IEEE Conference on Electromagnetic Field Computation, 2010IPMSM has been often developed for HEV because it has a high power density and a wide range of operations. However, an armature reaction occurs from the high current and also the hysteresis loss from electrical steel of rotor and stator and the magnet is pretty high due to the high speed driving.

Observer for the rotor temperature of IPMSM
Proceedings of 14th International Power Electronics and Motion Control Conference EPE-PEMC 2010, 2010In this paper an observer for the rotor temperature of an IPMSM, as commonly used in automotive applications, is presented. The observer is based on a flux observer utilizing the fact that the permanent magnet flux is temperature-dependent. Simulation and experimental results show good performance.
