Effect of ultraviolet irradiation on the osseointegration of a titanium alloy with bone

open access: yesContemporary Clinical Dentistry, 2017
Introduction: Attempt has been made to analyze the potential of titanium (Ti) alloy for osteointegration by the effect of surface photo functionalization in different aspects as follows: in Ringer's solution, in vitro cell growth, and in vivo study on ...

SYHA1813, A VEGFR and CSF1R Inhibitor, in Patients With Recurrent High‐Grade Gliomas: A Multicenter, Open‐Label Phase I Study

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Recurrent high‐grade gliomas have a poor prognosis and limited therapeutic options. This study aimed to evaluate the safety and efficacy of SYHA1813, a dual inhibitor of VEGFR and CSF1R, in patients with recurrent high‐grade gliomas.

EFEITOS DO TRATAMENTO COMBINADO DE IRRADIAÇÃO GAMA E REFRIGERAÇÃO NO CRESCIMENTO DE LEVEDURA (Saccharomyces cerevisiae Hansen) EM SUCO DE LARANJA

open access: yesScientia Agricola, 1996
O efeito da radiação gama e baixas temperaturas foi estudado no crescimento de Saccharomyces cerevisiae em suco de laranja. O suco concentrado de laranja (65°Brix) foi diluído a 10,5°Brix e inoculado com levedura comercial.

Mechanical properties and microstructural change of W–Y2O3 alloy under helium irradiation

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2015
A wet-chemical method combined with spark plasma sintering was used to prepare a W–Y2O3 alloy. High-temperature tensile tests and nano-indentation microhardness tests were used to characterize the mechanical properties of the alloy.

Growth Differentiation Factor 15 Elevation in the Central Nervous System Is Associated With Failure to Thrive in Alexander Disease

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Alexander disease (AxD) is a severe neurodegenerative disorder caused by gain‐of‐function mutations in the gene for GFAP, which lead to protein aggregation and a primary astrocytopathy. Symptoms vary, but failure to thrive (FTT) and frequent emesis are common and cause significant morbidity. Here we investigate GDF15, a member of the

Gonadal irradiation.

open access: yesSouth African medical journal = Suid-Afrikaanse tydskrif vir geneeskunde, 1974
A brief account is given of the circumstances under which gonadal irradiation may be expected to occur. The nonspecific tissue effect and the hormonal and sterilising effects are considered. Genetic implications are mentioned.S. Afr. Med. J., 48, 543 (1974).

Association of Elevated Serum S100A8/A9 Levels and Cognitive Impairment in Patients With Systemic Lupus Erythematosus

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective Cognitive impairment (CI) is common in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). Despite its prevalence, the immune mechanisms are not well understood. We previously reported elevated serum levels of S100A8/A9 and matrix metalloproteinase 9 (MMP‐9) in patients with SLE and CI.

Effects of Calcium Oxide and Radiation on Aspergillus flavus Population and Aflatoxins Concentrations in Corn Grains [PDF]

open access: yesBihdāsht-i Mavādd-i Ghaz̠āyī, 2020
< p >Aspergillus flavus is one of the hazardous fungi which appear in poor storage conditions. This mold produces dangerous toxins of aflatoxins in corn grains. Hence the investigation of reduction possibility of its growth and toxins is important.

Global and regional temporal changes in cross‐country inequalities of site‐specific osteoarthritis burden, 1990–2021

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, Accepted Article.
Objective This study examined the global and regional temporal changes in cross‐country inequalities of site‐specific osteoarthritis (OA) burden from 1990 to 2021. Methods Age‐standardized years lived with disability rate for site‐specific OA across 204 countries/territories were obtained from the Global Burden of Diseases Study (GBD) 2021.
