The entomopathogenic fungi Isaria farinosa (formerly Paecilomyces farinosus ) and the Isaria fumosorosea species complex (formerly Paecilomyces fumosoroseus ): biology, ecology and use in biological control

open access: yesBiocontrol Science and Technology, 2008
The entomopathogenic fungi, Isaria farinosa and Isaria fumosorosea were known as Paecilomyces farinosus and Paecilomyces fumosoroseus, for more than 30 years. Both fungi have a worldwide distribution and a relatively wide host range. While I.

Effects of entomopathogenic fungus, Isaria fumosorosea on Aphis gossypii Glov.

Journal of Entomological Research, 2022
AbstractPresent study focused on the effects of conidial formulations of Isaria fumosorosea on feeding rates and mortality of adult aphids in laboratory bioassays. Aphids treated with the conidial formulation of I. fumosorosea showed significant reduction in feeding activity after 3 days of treatment.

Bioactivity of MWCNT in Conidia of Entomopathogenic Fungus Isaria fumosorosea

Water, Air, & Soil Pollution, 2015
The bioactivity of three kinds of multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNT) towards the conidia of entomopathogenic fungus Isaria fumosorosea was examined in an in vitro study. Commercial—raw and functionalized—carboxylated MWCNT were applied. A fungal conidia suspension was placed in contact with dispersed MWCNT over different time-periods.

Culture medium improvement for Isaria fumosorosea submerged conidia production

Biochemical Engineering Journal, 2009
Abstract Submerged conidia and blastospores of the entomopathogenic fungus Isaria fumosorosea are produced in several liquid culture media. However, yields and the ecological fitness of these propagules vary according to culture media composition. In most culture media, hyphae, blastospores and submerged conidia are white but we found that in some ...

Interaction of fungicides with the entomopathogenic fungusIsaria fumosorosea

Biocontrol Science and Technology, 2011
Abstract The effects of eight commonly used fungicides: propamocarb, fenarimol, triadimefon, procimidone, azoxystrobin, carbendazim, cooper oxychloride and Trichoderma harzianum on germination, mycelial growth and virulence of Isaria fumosorosea (Wize) Brown & Smith (Ascomycota: Hypocreales) was studied.

Carotane-type sesquiterpenes from cultures of the insect pathogenic fungus Isaria fumosorosea

Journal of Asian Natural Products Research, 2017
Two new carotane-type sesquiterpenes named trichocaranes E (1) and F (2), along with two known ones CAF-603 (3) and trichocarane C (4), were isolated from cultures of the insect pathogenic fungus Isaria fumosorosea. Their structures and relative configurations were elucidated by extensive spectroscopic analysis and X-ray crystallography.

Biosafety of an entomopathogenic fungusIsaria fumosoroseain an acute dermal test in rabbits

Cutaneous and Ocular Toxicology, 2016
Isaria fumosorosea (formerly Paecilomyces fumosoroseus) is an entomopathogenic fungus that has been proposed as a low risk environmental alternative to the use of chemical insecticides to control agricultural pests and disease vectors. Although there are some mycoinsecticides already being marketed in many countries, not all their biosafety protocols ...
