Interaction of fungicides with the entomopathogenic fungusIsaria fumosorosea

Biocontrol Science and Technology, 2011
Abstract The effects of eight commonly used fungicides: propamocarb, fenarimol, triadimefon, procimidone, azoxystrobin, carbendazim, cooper oxychloride and Trichoderma harzianum on germination, mycelial growth and virulence of Isaria fumosorosea (Wize) Brown & Smith (Ascomycota: Hypocreales) was studied.

Optimization and synthesis of silver nanoparticles using Isaria fumosorosea against human vector mosquitoes

Parasitology Research, 2014
The efficacy of silver generated larvicide with the help of entomopathogenic fungi, Isaria fumosorosea (Ifr) against major vector mosquitoes Culex quinquefasciatus and Aedes aegypti. The Ifr-silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) were characterized structurally and functionally using UV-visible spectrophotometer followed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM ...

Adipokinetic hormone promotes infection with entomopathogenic fungus Isaria fumosorosea in the cockroach Periplaneta americana

Comparative Biochemistry and Physiology Part C: Toxicology & Pharmacology, 2020
The adipokinetic hormones (AKHs) are known to be involved in insect immunity, thus their role in the cockroach Periplaneta americana infected with the entomopathogenic fungus Isaria fumosorosea was examined in this study. The application of I. fumosorosea resulted in a significant increase in both Akh gene expression and AKH peptide levels. Further, co-

Carotane-type sesquiterpenes from cultures of the insect pathogenic fungus Isaria fumosorosea

Journal of Asian Natural Products Research, 2017
Two new carotane-type sesquiterpenes named trichocaranes E (1) and F (2), along with two known ones CAF-603 (3) and trichocarane C (4), were isolated from cultures of the insect pathogenic fungus Isaria fumosorosea. Their structures and relative configurations were elucidated by extensive spectroscopic analysis and X-ray crystallography.

Laboratory evaluation of Isaria fumosorosea against Spodoptera littoralis.

Communications in agricultural and applied biological sciences, 2013
Isaria fumosorosea (syn. Paecilomyces fumosoroseus) is potentially useful for the biological control of economically important agricultural and forest insect pests. We evaluated efficacy of two strains of this entomopathogenic fungus against last instar larvae and pupae of Egyptian cotton leafworm, Spodoptera littoralis.

Biosafety of an entomopathogenic fungusIsaria fumosoroseain an acute dermal test in rabbits

Cutaneous and Ocular Toxicology, 2016
Isaria fumosorosea (formerly Paecilomyces fumosoroseus) is an entomopathogenic fungus that has been proposed as a low risk environmental alternative to the use of chemical insecticides to control agricultural pests and disease vectors. Although there are some mycoinsecticides already being marketed in many countries, not all their biosafety protocols ...

Persistence of Isaria fumosorosea (Hypocreales: Cordycipitaceae) SFP-198 Conidia in Corn Oil-Based Suspension

Mycopathologia, 2010
Long-term persistence of entomopathogenic fungi as biopesticides is a major requirement for successful industrialization. Corn oil carrier was superior in maintaining germination rates of Isaria fumosorosea SFP-198 conidia during exposure to 50°C for 2 h, when compared with other oils, such as soybean oil, cottonseed oil, paraffin oil, and methyl ...

Inoculation of sphagnum-based soil substrate with entomopathogenic fungus Isaria fumosorosea (Hypocreales: Cordycipitaceae)

AIP Conference Proceedings, 2018
Convenient ecological alternative to broad-spectrum chemical pesticides is the utilization of natural enemies, like predators, parasitoids and microorganisms. A substantial number of microbial biopesticides based on entomopathogenic fungi have been developed worldwide since 1960s. Beauveria bassiana (Balsamo-Crivelli) Vuillemin, Metarhizium anisopliae (

HOUSEHOLD PRODUCTION OF ISARIA FUMOSOROSEA FUNGUS MOTHER CULTURE TO CONTROL RUGOSE SPIRALING WHITEFLY

The Planter, 2021
Rugose spiraling whitefly (RSW), Aleurodicus rugioperculatus Martin. is an invasive pest in India. It feeds on most of the green-leaved plants including arecaceae palms. Both the nymphs and adults suck the sap from the leaves causing yield loss. For effective management of the pest, ICAR- Indian Institute of Oil Palm Research, Pedavegi has developed a ...
