Alkylation of isatins with trichloroacetimidates

Organic & Biomolecular Chemistry, 2022
N-Alkylation or O-alkylation of isatins can be achieved utilizing trichloroacetimidate electrophiles with the major product being controlled by solvent effects. These reactions provide access to N-alkyl isatins, versatile scaffolds which are often employed in synthesis.

A Review an Isatin, Isatin Derivatives and their Pharmacological Activity

Research Journal of Pharmacology and Pharmacodynamics, 2021
Isatin or 1H-indole-2, 3-dione is an indole derivative. Isatin is an important class of heterocyclic compounds. Recently, heterocyclic compounds analogues and their derivatives have attracted strong interest in medicinal chemistry due to their biological and pharmacological properties. The structure have offered a high value of diversity that is proven

Isatin‐1,2,3‐triazole‐isatin Scaffolds and Their Antibacterial Activity

Journal of Heterocyclic Chemistry, 2019
Twelve novel isatin‐1,2,3‐triazole‐isatin scaffolds 5a–l were designed, synthesized, and assessed for their in vitro antibacterial activity in this paper. The preliminary results showed that all dimers only endowed with weak antibacterial activity, which was less active than the reference ciprofloxacin.

Reductive 1,2-Arylation of Isatins

Organic Letters, 2022
We report an intermolecular Ni-catalyzed reductive coupling of aryl iodides and isatins to form 3-hydroxyoxindoles. In contrast to common metal-mediated methods, sec-butanol is used as a mild stoichiometric reductant resulting in benign waste products.
