Asymmetric (4 + 3) and (4 + 1) Annulations of Isatin-derived Morita-Baylis-Hillman Carbonates to Construct Diverse Chiral Heterocyclic Frameworks.

Organic Letters, 2020
A chiral tertiary amine-catalyzed asymmetric γ-regioselective (4 + 3) annulation reaction of isatin-derived Morita-Baylis-Hillman carbonates and 1-azadienes was developed, delivering chiral azepane spirooxindoles with excellent stereoselectivity.

ChemInform Abstract: CONDENSATION OF INDOLE WITH ISATIN

Chemischer Informationsdienst, 1976

Development of a high-performance anion exchange membrane using poly(isatin biphenylene) with flexible heterocyclic quaternary ammonium cations for alkaline fuel cells

Journal of Materials Chemistry A, 2019
A series of quaternary ammonium-tethered poly(isatin biphenylene)s (PIBs) were prepared devoid of alkaline labile aryl ether bonds via superacid-catalyzed polymerization and explored as highly alkaline stable backbones of anion exchange membranes (AEMs).

Isatin‐1,2,3‐triazole‐isatin Scaffolds and Their Antibacterial Activity

Journal of Heterocyclic Chemistry, 2019
Twelve novel isatin‐1,2,3‐triazole‐isatin scaffolds 5a–l were designed, synthesized, and assessed for their in vitro antibacterial activity in this paper. The preliminary results showed that all dimers only endowed with weak antibacterial activity, which was less active than the reference ciprofloxacin.

The loss of CO and HCN in the fragmentation of isatin and the methyl isatins

Organic Mass Spectrometry, 1971
Abstract3‐13C‐Isatin has been shown to eliminate the 2‐carbonyl group as the initial fragment, followed predominantly by loss of HCN. In 4‐, 5‐and 6‐methyl‐isatin the loss of the second carbonyl group competes evenly with HCN loss, whilst the 7‐methyl isomer fragments almost exclusively by successive loss of two molecules of CO from the molecular ion.
