Condensation of isatin with diketones

Tetrahedron, 1959
Abstract The condensation of isatin with enolisable acyclic and alicylcic 1:3-diketones has been investigated and the structures of the acylated cinchoninic acids obtained have been determined. The condensation of acetonylacetone with potassium isatate is also described.

ChemInform Abstract: Remote Activation of the Nucleophilicity of Isatin.

ChemInform, 2014
AbstractMichael addition of the isatin imine (I) to aliphatic 1,4‐ketoesters requires a much longer reaction time than the one to aromatic 1,4‐ketoesters.

A Role for Isatin Azomethine Imines as a Dipolarophile in Cycloaddition Reactions.

Organic Letters, 2020
An unusual [2 + 3] cycloaddition of isatin azomethine imines (AIs) and in situ generated azaoxyallyl cations has been developed. It is the first example where AIs serve as the [C,O] 2-atom synthon in organic synthesis.

Anodic Methoxylation of Isatin

Zeitschrift für Naturforschung B, 1998
Abstract Anodic metoxylation of isatin was investigated. The product formed contained a unique 3a.7a-dihydroindole ring system. 3a,7a-Dihydro-(Z)-3a,7a-dimetoxyisatin was isolated and characterized with a variety of spectroscopic methods.

Isomerism of isatin-?-aroylhydrazones

Chemistry of Heterocyclic Compounds, 1971
The reaction of isatin O-methyl ether with hydrazides of aromatic acids gives the cis and trans forms of α-aroylhydrazones.

Enantioselective Alkynylation of Isatin Derivatives Using a Chiral Phase-Transfer/Transition-Metal Hybrid Catalyst System

ACS Catalysis, 2019
An enantioselective alkynylation of isatin derivatives can be realized by using a hybrid catalyst system consisting of chiral phase-transfer catalyst and transition-metal catalyst.

Synthesis of spirooxindoles fused with pyrazolo-tetrahydropyridinone and coumarin-dihydropyridine-pyrazole tetracycles by reaction medium dependent isatin-based multicomponent reactions

New Journal of Chemistry, 2019
A reaction medium dependent three-component reaction of isatin, 4-hydroxycoumarin and aminopyrazole/aminoisoxazole has been reported under microwave heating conditions for the synthesis of two different types of fused spirooxindoles.
