SerpinA3 is an Endogenous TGF‐β Receptor Antagonist that Attenuates Cardiac Fibroblast Activation and Fibrotic Remodeling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
SerpinA3 acts as an endogenous TGF‐β receptor antagonist that binds to the extracellular domain of TGFR‐1, thereby preventing TGFR‐1–TGFR‐2 complex formation. This receptor‐level blockade suppresses TGF‐β/Smad2/3 signaling, attenuates cardiac fibroblast activation, and extracellular matrix deposition, and ultimately alleviates pressure overload–induced

Effects of balloon occlusion during percutaneous coronary intervention on circulating Ischemia Modified Albumin and transmyocardial lactate extraction

open access: yes, 2006
Studies have shown that human albumin undergoes a considerable reduction in its capacity to bind exogenous cobalt (Ischemia Modified Albumin (IMA); Ischemia Technologies, Denver, Colorado, USA), as measured by the albumin cobalt binding test, when ...

Ischemia modified albumin, an early and novel predictor of complications of hypertension in south asian region [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Background- Hypertension is a common occurance in our society. Microalbuminuria is already evaluated in hypertension as a marker of cardiovascular risk and target organ damage. Ischemia modified albumin is a novel marker of oxidative stress.

Lyssavirus Nucleoprotein Induces GPAT4‐Mediated CYB5R1 Depalmitoylation to Suppress Ferroptosis and Promote Viral Replication

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Lipid metabolism plays a vital role in viral infections. Here, we reveal that the lyssavirus N protein regulates GPAT4 to induce lipid droplet biogenesis, restricting CYB5R1 palmitoylation and reducing ferroptosis susceptibility to ultimately promote viral replication.

The GPX3‐VCAM1 Axis Gates Pro‐Fibrotic Tubule Cell Fate in Hyperuricemic Nephropathy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Hyperuricemia induces NLRP3 inflammasome signaling activation and downregulation of GPX3 in proximal tubular epithelial cells, leading to oxidative stress–driven VCAM1 upregulation, emergence of pro‐fibrotic proximal tubule cells, macrophage recruitment, and renal fibrosis.

Ischemia-modified albumin in migraine patients during interictal period

open access: yesJournal of Medical Science, 2016
Aim. Ischemia-modified albumin (IMA) is a marker of myocardial ischemia and may be affected by ischemia occurring in other tissues. Migraine has been reported as a risk factor of ischemic stroke or cardiovascular events. Dysfunction of endothelial cells,

SIRT5‐Mediated Desuccinylation of ACAA2 Protects Against Calcium Oxalate‐Induced Kidney Injury by Regulating Fatty Acid Oxidation to Suppress Mitochondrial Oxidative Injury and Ferroptosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The SIRT5/ACAA2 axis maintains lipid metabolic homeostasis in RTECs by promoting ACAA2 desuccinylation and preserving its stability and enzymatic activity, thereby sustaining FAO and limiting PUFA and PUFA‐containing phospholipid accumulation. Under CaOx stress, SIRT5 downregulation impairs FAO, promotes oxidative stress and ferroptosis, and enhances ...

Role of “Ischemia Modified Albumin” (IMA) in acute coronary syndromes

open access: yesIndian Heart Journal, 2014
Background: Diagnosis of acute coronary syndrome (ACS) is important, due to the associated very high mortality. Failure to diagnose ACS is a problem both for the patients and the clinicians.
