In field use of water samples for genomic surveillance of ISKNV infecting tilapia fish in Lake Volta, Ghana

2023
AbstractViral outbreaks are a constant threat to aquaculture, limiting production for better global food security. A lack of diagnostic testing and monitoring in resource-limited areas hinders the capacity to respond rapidly to disease outbreaks and to prevent viral pathogens becoming endemic in fisheries productive waters.

Molecular cloning of IKKβ from the mandarin fish Siniperca chuatsi and its up-regulation in cells by ISKNV infection

Veterinary Immunology and Immunopathology, 2011
The IκB kinase β (IKKβ) plays crucial roles in regulating activation of nuclear factor-kappa B (NF-κB) in response to proinflammatory factors and microbial and viral infections. Here, we report the cloning of an IKKβ cDNA (named SicIKKβ) from the mandarin fish Siniperca chuatsi.

iTRAQ-based proteomic profile analysis of ISKNV-infected CPB cells with emphasizing on glucose metabolism, apoptosis and autophagy pathways

Fish & Shellfish Immunology, 2018
Infectious spleen and kidney necrosis virus (ISKNV) has caused significant losses in the cultured mandarin fish (Siniperca chuatsi) industry. The molecular mechanisms that underlie interaction between ISKNV and hosts are not fully understood. In this study, the proteomic profile of CPB cells at progressive time points after ISKNV infection was analyzed

Molecular epidemiology and phylogenetic analysis of a marine fish infectious spleen and kidney necrosis virus-like (ISKNV-like) virus

Archives of Virology, 2006
Infectious spleen and kidney necrosis virus-like (ISKNV-like) virus causes a serious systemic disease with high morbidity and mortality of freshwater and marine fishes. Based on the ISKNV putative major capsid protein (MCP), the vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), the mRNA capping enzyme (Capping), and the tumor necrosis factor receptor ...

Display of ISKNV orf086 protein on the surface of Aeromonas hydrophila and its immunogenicity in Chinese perch ( Siniperca chuatsi )

Fish & Shellfish Immunology, 2016
Co-infection with infectious spleen and kidney necrosis virus (ISKNV) and Aeromonas hydrophila is becoming ever more widespread in Chinese perch (Siniperca chuatsi) aquaculture industry, so that it's necessary to develop the combined vaccine against ISKNV and A. hydrophila disease.

Establishment of an ovarian cell line from tomato grouper (Cephalopholis sonnerati) and its transcriptome response to ISKNV infection

Fish & Shellfish Immunology
Tomato grouper (Cephalopholis sonnerati) is an economically efficient and nutritious species, whose expansion through factory farming in recent years has been hindered by the frequent occurrence of diseases, limiting the development of its aquaculture industry.
