Isocitrate lyase plays important roles in plant salt tolerance [PDF]
Background Isocitrate lyase (ICL) is a key enzyme in the glyoxylate cycle. In a previous study in rice, the expression of the ICL-encoding gene (OsICL) was highly induced by salt stress and its expression was enhanced in transgenic rice lines ...

Inhibitory Effects of Nitrogenous Metabolites from a Marine-Derived Streptomyces bacillaris on Isocitrate Lyase of Candida albicans [PDF]
Two nitrogenous metabolites, bacillimide (1) and bacillapyrrole (2), were isolated from the culture broth of the marine-derived actinomycete Streptomyces bacillaris.

Suvanine Sesterterpenes from a Tropical Sponge Coscinoderma sp. Inhibit Isocitrate Lyase in the Glyoxylate Cycle [PDF]
The glyoxylate cycle is a sequence of anaplerotic reactions catalyzed by the key enzymes isocitrate lyase (ICL) and malate synthase (MLS). Mutants of Candida albicans lacking ICL are markedly less virulent in mice than the wild-type.

Discovery of a Novel Inhibitor Structure of Mycobacterium tuberculosis Isocitrate Lyase [PDF]
Tuberculosis remains a global threat to public health, and dormant Mycobacterium tuberculosis leads to long-term medication that is harmful to the human body. M. tuberculosis isocitrate lyase (MtICL), which is absent in host cells, is a key rate-limiting

Cloning and expression of isocitrate lyase from human round worm Strongyloides stercoralis [PDF]
A full length cDNA (1463 bp) encoding isocitrate lyase (EC 4.1.3.1) of Strongyloides stercoralis is described. The nucleotide sequence of this insert identified a cDNA coding for the isocitrate lyase.

Physiological role of isocitrate lyase in dibenzo-p-dioxin and dibenzofuran metabolism by Sphingomonas wittichii RW1 [PDF]
Background Sphingomonas wittichii RW1 is one out of three strains capable of metabolizing dioxin as a sole source for carbon and energy. Under laboratory conditions the degradation rates for these aromatics are relatively high (5 and 8 h for dibenzofuran

Acetyl-CoA-mediated activation of Mycobacterium tuberculosis isocitrate lyase 2 [PDF]
Isocitrate lyase (ICL) isoforms 1 and 2 are enzymes in the glyoxylate and methylcitrate cycles that enable Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb) to use lipids as a carbon source.

Inhibitory Effects of Epipolythiodioxopiperazine Fungal Metabolites on Isocitrate Lyase in the Glyoxylate Cycle of Candida albicans [PDF]
Four epipolythiodioxopiperazine fungal metabolites (1–4) isolated from the sponge-derived Aspergillus quadrilineatus FJJ093 were evaluated for their capacity to inhibit isocitrate lyase (ICL) in the glyoxylate cycle of Candida albicans. The structures of

Role and control of isocitrate lyase in Candida lipolytica [PDF]
Mutants of Candida lipolytica that were unable to grow on acetate but able to utilize succinate or glycerol as a sole carbon source were isolated. Amongst the mutants isolated, one strain (Icl-) was specifically deficient in isocitrate lyase activity, whereas another strain (Acos-) was deficient in acetyl coenzyme A synthetase activity.
