A series of ACHPES‐based hydrogels are developed and realizing multiple functions like anti‐fouling properties, alkali‐induced color/fluorescence‐changing ability and strain sensing. Furthermore, the hydrogels show excellent anti‐freezing performance, whose optical, mechanical and electrical properties remain stable at −47.3 °C.

Hydrogenation at low temperatures does not always lead to saturation: the case of HNCO [PDF]
Context. It is generally agreed that hydrogenation reactions dominate chemistry on grain surfaces in cold, dense molecular cores, saturating the molecules present in ice mantles. Aims. We present a study of the low temperature reactivity of solid phase isocyanic acid (HNCO) with hydrogen atoms, with the aim of elucidating its reaction network. Methods.

Catalysts for polyimide foams from aromatic isocyanates and aromatic dianhydrides [PDF]
Polyimide foam products having greatly improved burn-through and flame-spread resistance are prepared by the reaction of aromatic polyisocyanates with aromatic dianhydrides in the presence of metallic salts of octoic acid. The salts, for example stannous

Internally catalyzed siloxane dynamic chemistry is demonstrated resulting from amides covalently linked through alkyl chains to siloxanes. The alkyl length in the siloxane‐containing monomer tunes the network cross‐link density. Siloxane exchange dynamics are faster with increasing cross‐link density, because associative exchange is second order in ...

Kinetics of aqueous media reactions via ab initio enhanced molecular dynamics: the case of urea decomposition [PDF]
Aqueous solutions provide a medium for many important reactions in chemical synthesis, industrial processes, environmental chemistry, and biological functions. It is an accepted fact that aqueous solvents can be direct participants to the reaction process and not act only as simple passive dielectrics.

Method of neutralizing the corrosive surface of amine-cured epoxy resins [PDF]
The corrosive alkaline surface layer of an epoxy resin product formed by the curing of the epoxy with an aliphatic amine is eliminated by first applying a non-solvent to remove most or all of the free unreacted amine and then applying a layer of a ...

Statistical experimental design screening strategies for free-monomeric isocyanates determination by UPLC in materials used in cork stoppers manufacturing [PDF]
A statistical experimental design was used to screen variables of the analytical procedure to quantify free monomeric isocyanates presented in polyurethane based pre-polymers in trace amounts.
