Machine learning‐driven GWAS uncovers novel candidate genes for resistance to frosty pod rot and witches' broom disease in cacao

open access: yesThe Plant Genome, Volume 18, Issue 3, September 2025.
Abstract Cacao (Theobroma cacao), the source of chocolate, is threatened by devastating diseases like frosty pod rot (FPR) and witches' broom disease (WBD), impacting global production and farmer livelihoods. Here, we employ a machine learning‐driven genome‐wide association study to dissect the genetic architecture of disease resistance and ...

RSEA: A Web Server for Pathway Enrichment Analysis of Metabolic Reaction Sets

open access: yesBiotechnology and Bioengineering, Volume 122, Issue 8, Page 2251-2258, August 2025.
Reaction Set Enrichment Analysis (RSEA), a web server tool designed for metabolic pathway enrichment analysis of reaction sets derived from genome‐scale metabolic models was introduced. RSEA converts given reaction lists into standardized identifiers and statistically evaluates their enrichment across metabolic pathways.

ECMO‐Assisted Da Vinci Robotic Surgery for Pheochromocytoma‐Induced Acute Catecholamine Cardiomyopathy: A Case Report

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 13, Issue 8, August 2025.
ABSTRACT Pheochromocytoma, an uncommon neuroendocrine neoplasm, has the potential to precipitate acute catecholamine cardiomyopathy (ACIC), a perilous condition characterized by cardiogenic shock and the failure of multiple organ systems. The significance of early diagnosis and the implementation of a multidisciplinary approach are paramount for ...

Microaxial pump‐supported coronary surgery without CPB to optimize outcome in severely impaired left ventricles

open access: yesESC Heart Failure, Volume 12, Issue 4, Page 2749-2758, August 2025.
Abstract Aims Cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) is the standard approach for coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) in advanced ischaemic cardiomyopathy. Microaxial pump support has been envisioned to allow for beating‐heart CABG without CPB (MPCAB), thereby avoiding CPB‐inherent complications.
