The Third and Fourth Workshops on Spectral Line Shapes in Plasma Code Comparison: Isolated Lines

open access: yes, 2018
The purpose of the Spectral Line Shapes in Plasmas (SLSP) code comparison workshop is to compare different computational and analytical methods, in order to pinpoint sources of disagreements, infer limits of applicability, and assess accuracy.

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

New Schiartane- Triterpene from and their Cytotoxic Activities

open access: yesNatural Product Communications, 2014
One new schiartane- type triterpene, heteroclitalactone N ( 1 ), and four known compounds ( 2–5 ), seco-coccinic acid F, dihydroguaiaretic acid, schizanrin F, and kadsuralignan B were isolated from the stems of Kadsura heteroclita . Their structures were

Triterpenoid of avocado (Persea americana) seed and its cytotoxic activity toward breast MCF-7 and liver HepG2 cancer cells

open access: yesAsian Pacific Journal of Tropical Biomedicine, 2017
Objective: To determine the structure of triterpenoid isolated from avocado seeds and the cytotoxic effect on MCF-7 and HepG2 cells. Methods: The powder sample was macerated with ethanol, followed with separation of the extract by column chromatography ...

Phorbol esters isolated from Jatropha meal induced apoptosis-mediated inhibition in proliferation of Chang and Vero cell lines

open access: yes, 2012
The direct feeding of Jatropha meal containing phorbol esters (PEs) indicated mild to severe toxicity symptoms in various organs of different animals. However, limited information is available on cellular and molecular mechanism of toxicity caused by PEs

Oxygen-dependent expression of the erythropoietin gene in rat hepatocytes in vitro [PDF]

open access: yes, 1993
Since in juvenile rats the liver is the predominant site of erythropoietin (EPO) gene expression, we have used primary cultures of juvenile rat hepatocytes to establish and in vitro system for investigation of oxygen-dependent EPO formation.

The ubiquitin‐proteasome system and autophagy as guardians of the cellular proteome

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This Perspective covers the three principles governing the crosstalk between the ubiquitin‐proteasome system and autophagy in cellular proteostasis: (1) a shared ubiquitin code routing substrates via shuttle factors or autophagy receptors; (2) spatial compartmentalization into phase‐separated degradation hubs and organelle‐specific modules (exemplified

Generation of two induced pluripotent stem cell lines NCCSi005A and NCCSi006A from CD4+T cells of healthy individuals of Indian origin

open access: yesStem Cell Research, 2019
Human induced pluripotent stem cell-lines (iPSCs) of Indian origin NCCSi005A and NCCSi006A were established by reprogramming of CD4+T cells, isolated from the peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) of two healthy female donors.

Electron Broadening of Isolated Lines with Stationary Non-Equilibrium Level Populations

open access: yes, 2005
It is shown that a quantum kinetic theory approach to line broadening, extended to stationary non-equilibrium states, yields corrections to the standard electron impact widths of isolated lines that depend on the population of the radiator internal ...
