Antibiotic Resistance Microbiology Dataset (ARMD): A De-identified Resource for Studying Antimicrobial Resistance Using Electronic Health Records [PDF]
The Antibiotic Resistance Microbiology Dataset (ARMD) is a de-identified resource derived from electronic health records (EHR) that facilitates research into antimicrobial resistance (AMR). ARMD encompasses data from adult patients, focusing on microbiological cultures, antibiotic susceptibilities, and associated clinical and demographic features.

Evolution‐Guided Discovery of Antimycobacterial Triculamin‐Like Lasso Peptides
The hypothesized convergent biosynthesis of triculamin‐like lasso peptides from different biosynthetic gene cluster (BGC) types represented across multiple bacterial phyla. The elucidation of the triculamin non‐canonical BGC and resistance mechanism by heterologous expression in Streptomyces albus and in vitro acetylation with resistance conveying ...

TP53‐Mutated Myeloid Neoplasms: 2024 Update on Diagnosis, Risk‐Stratification, and Management
ABSTRACT Alterations in the tumor suppressor gene TP53 are common in human cancers and are associated with an aggressive nature. Approximately 8%–12% of myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) and acute myeloid leukemia (AML) harbor TP53 mutations (TP53mut) and present immense challenges due to inherent chemoresistance and poor outcomes.

Antimicrobial Peptide‐Peptoid Macrocycles from the Polymyxin B2 Chemical Space
We optimized mixed peptide‐peptoid sequences for molecular similarity to the macrocyclic lipopeptide antibiotic polymyxin B2 (PMB2) using a genetic algorithm. Synthesis and testing of top‐scoring compounds allowed us to identify new macrocycles with similar antimicrobial activity and reduced toxicity compared to PMB2.

ABSTRACT With the recent publication of new classification systems of hematopoietic neoplasms, understanding how recognition of disease entities has occurred over time and the subsequent development of formal disease classifications is of importance. This review focuses on the early recognition of myeloid disorders, especially chronic myeloid disorders,

The structure and biosynthetic origin of the enigmatic “yellow affinity substance” (YAS) from the anaerobe thermophile Clostridium thermocellum (now: Acetivibrio thermocellus) were elucidated. YAS is a complex of unusual antibacterial arylpolyene alkaloids (celluxanthenes) that are produced by various cellulolytic anaerobes.
