Isoleucine-Catalyzed Direct Asymmetric Aldol Addition of Enolizable Aldehydes
Isoleucine-catalyzed direct enantioselective aldol additions between enolizable aldehydes are reported. Intermediate acetal structures dictate the configurative outcome and were supported by a hydrogen bond.

N-(β-Carboxyethyl)-α-isoleucine
The title compound, {2-[(2-carbamoylethyl)amino]-3-methylpentanoic acid}, C9H18N2O3, is of interest with respect to its biological activity. It was formed during an addition reaction between acrylamide and the amino acid isoleucine. The crystal structure

Effects of L-valine in layer diets containing 0.72% isoleucine
In a previous study with LSL-LITE layers (-23 to 30-week-old), isoleucine at 0.72% and 0.84% produced values for FCR at 1.45 and 1.44, respectively and shared significance with 0.78% isoleucine (1.49). Considering that FCR is an important standard in the

Effect of Intravenous L-Isoleucine Infusion upon Concentration of Free Isoleucine in Milk
The growth of Streptococcus agalactiae in milk is inhibited by elevated free isoleucine. Free amino acid concentrations in both plasma and milk from three lactating dairy cows were studied after intravenous infusions of L-isoleucine at 62, 300, 380, and 840 mumol/kg of body weight. Free isoleucine was lower in milk than in plasma.

Data for NMR-based assignment of isoleucine vs allo-isoleucine stereochemistry
A simple 1H and 13C NMR spectrometric analysis is demonstrated that permits differentiation of isoleucine and allo-isoleucine residues by inspection of the chemical shift and coupling constants of the signals associated with the proton and carbon at the ...
