Agonist‐specific conformational dynamics at the β2‐adrenoceptor dictate allosteric modulation of Gαs signalling and bronchodilation

open access: yesBritish Journal of Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Abstract Background and Purpose β2‐adrenoceptor (β2AR) agonists are the cornerstone of asthma therapy and promote bronchodilation through Gαs signalling in airway smooth muscle (ASM), but their efficacy is limited by β‐arrestin‐mediated β2AR desensitization.

Time-dependent responses of rat troponin I and cardiac injury following isoproterenol administration [PDF]

open access: yesMedicinski Glasnik, 2011
Aim To develop a rat model of myocardial infarction induced by isoproterenol (ISO). We investigated a type of histological myocardial changes and cardiac troponin I (TnI) kinetic. Methods The study has used adult, male, Wistar strain rats.

Tunnelling Nanotube‐Mediated Lysosome Sharing Promotes Osteocyte Survival via Transcellular Autophagy

open access: yesCell Proliferation, EarlyView.
This study provides the first definitive identification of tunnelling nanotubes (TNTs) between cultured osteocytes and shows TNT‐mediated lysosome transfer from healthy to stressed cells, restoring autophagic flux and preventing apoptosis. This discovery of transcellular autophagy reveals a new survival mechanism in osteocytes, offering potential ...

Alchemilla vulgaris modulates isoproterenol-induced cardiotoxicity: interplay of oxidative stress, inflammation, autophagy, and apoptosis

open access: yesFrontiers in Pharmacology
Introduction: Isoproterenol (ISO) is regarded as an adrenergic non-selective β agonist. It regulates myocardial contractility and may cause damage to cardiac tissues.

An update on the landscape of collagen bioactive fragments

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, EarlyView.
The remodeling of the extracellular matrix releases collagen bioactive fragments, which exert molecular functions and regulate numerous biological processes via several signaling pathways. Here, we summarize the latest findings describing the roles of major bioactive fragments from collagens I, IV, VI, and XVIII in various physiological and ...

Betulin protects against isoproterenol-induced myocardial injury by inhibiting NF-κB signaling and attenuating cardiac inflammation and oxidative stress in rats

open access: yesAsian Pacific Journal of Tropical Biomedicine
Objective: To investigate the cardioprotective potential of betulin in isoproterenol (ISO)-induced myocardial injury in rats. Methods: Wistar rats were divided into five groups (n=10): normal, ISO, nebivolol 5 mg/kg, and betulin (20 & 40 mg/kg ...

Intravenous delivery of a microRNA-1 agomir improves isoproterenol-induced heart failure in mice

open access: yesDi-san junyi daxue xuebao, 2019
Objective To investigate the therapeutic effect of intravenous administration of a microRNA-1 (miR-1) agomir on isoproterenol (ISO)-induced heart failure (HF) in mice. Methods Mouse models of HF were established by intraperitoneal injection of ISO for 28

Prospective Trial of Radiofrequency Catheter Ablation of High Dominant Frequencies After Pulmonary Vein Isolation in Non‐Paroxysmal Atrial Fibrillation (PAD‐AF Trial): A Multicenter, Randomized Clinical Trial

open access: yesJournal of Cardiovascular Electrophysiology, EarlyView.
In persistent AF, adjunctive dominant frequency‐guided ablation after pulmonary vein isolation did not significantly improve outcomes. Limited overlap between high‐frequency sites and low‐voltage areas suggests functional–structural dissociation, while right atrial low‐voltage burden predicts recurrence.

Late‐Onset Suspected Coronary Vasospasm Following Focal Monopolar Pulsed‐Field Ablation for Atrial Fibrillation

open access: yesJournal of Cardiovascular Electrophysiology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Coronary vasospasm is a recognized complication of pulsed‐field ablation (PFA), but delayed events are rarely described. Methods and Results A 64‐year‐old man underwent atrial fibrillation ablation using a focal monopolar PFA catheter.

Comparison of Spatio‐Temporal Dispersion Electrogram Ablation and Low Voltage Zone Ablation in Patients With Persistent Atrial Fibrillation

open access: yesJournal of Cardiovascular Electrophysiology, EarlyView.
This study compared STDE‐guided versus LVZ‐guided ablation beyond PVI in 107 persistent AF patients. At 24 months, the AF‐free survival rate was significantly higher in the STDE group (76.3% vs. 58.4%, p=0.027). STDE ablation independently reduced recurrence risk (HR: 0.29, p=0.004), providing superior clinical efficacy over LVZ ablation.
