The sorption of isosorbide-5-mononitrate to intravenous delivery systems
AbstractThe sorption of isosorbide-5-mononitrate, diluted in 0.9% NaCl or 10% glucose solutions, to intravenous delivery systems was investigated. Infusion bags, burettes, a syringe, infusion tubings and end-line filters were tested in static and in dynamic experiments. No clinically significant sorption was detected during those experiments.

Optimized antianginal therapy: a randomized, comparative study of long-acting isosorbide-5-mononitrate and isosorbide dinitrate in patients with coronary heart disease and stable effort angina [PDF]
Aim. To compare effectiveness and tolerability of a regular treatment with two nitrates – moderately long-acting isosorbide dinitrate and very long-acting isosorbide-5-mononitrate – in patients with coronary heart disease (CHD) and stable effort angina ...

Serum profile of isosorbide mononitrate after vaginal administration in the third trimester
Vaginally administered nitric oxide donors such as isosorbide mononitrate have been used to ripen the uterine cervix in pregnancy. The pharmacokinetics of isosorbide mononitrate following vaginal administration are unknown.

On the importance of atmospheric loss of organic nitrates by aqueous-phase ⚫OH oxidation [PDF]
Organic nitrates are secondary species in the atmosphere. Their fate is related to the chemical transport of pollutants from polluted areas to more distant zones.

Effect and mechanism of action of isosorbide-5-mononitrate. [PDF]
Nitrates have been shown to decrease portal pressure in cirrhotic patients with portal hypertension and this has been attributed to decreased portal venous resistance. We studied the effect and mechanism of action of oral administration of isosorbide-5-mononitrate (Is-5-Mn) (20 mg), which, unlike the dinitrate, does not require hepatic ...
