An Artificial Antibody‐Based Toolbox Accelerates Validation of Hidden Microproteins Encoded by the Dark Genome

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Microproteins are hidden treasures encoded by the “dark proteome” but remain largely underexplored due to the lack of highly efficient tools. We developed a molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs)‐based toolbox (CLAIMID) to achieve accelerated and ultrasensitive microproteins validation at multiple biological scales (single living cells, cell populations,

Strand displacement amplification—an isothermal,in vitroDNA amplification technique

open access: yesNucleic Acids Research, 1992
Strand Displacement Amplification (SDA) is an isothermal, in vitro nucleic acid amplification technique based upon the ability of HincII to nick the unmodified strand of a hemiphosphorothioate form of its recognition site, and the ability of exonuclease deficient klenow (exo- klenow) to extend the 3'-end at the nick and displace the downstream DNA ...

Targeting Peptostreptococcus anaerobius with an Iron‐Based Nanozyme Reverses Ferroptosis Resistance and Enhances Antitumor Immunity in Colorectal Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An iron‐based nanozyme selectively eliminates intratumoral P. anaerobius while catalytically generating ROS to induce ferroptosis, synergistically suppressing colorectal cancer growth and activating anti‐tumor immunity through immunogenic cell death. ABSTRACT The intratumoral microbiota is a critical determinant of therapeutic outcomes in colorectal ...

One-step loop-mediated isothermal amplification system for Mycobacterium marinum detection

open access: yesMicrobiology Spectrum
Mycobacterium marinum is the etiological agent of cutaneous nontuberculous mycobacteriosis, inducing granuloma formation in human skin. Other mycobacterial species, including Mycobacterium ulcerans, Mycobacterium chelonae, and Mycobacterium fortuitum ...

Solid phase isothermal amplification

open access: yes, 2019
The present invention relates to an amplification technology for multiple, rapid, sensitive, specific detection of nucleic acids in samples originating from the environment, water, food, animals, plants, microorganisms, cell cultures, or humans. In particular, the present invention relates to isothermal amplification and detection of nucleic acids ...

Rotation of Crystal Seed During Early Stages of Growth Reveals the Anisotropy of Glass Matrix

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Molecular dynamics simulations reveal that crystal seeds can spontaneously rotate within glass at high temperatures due to anisotropic forces at the glass‐crystal interface. This rotation challenges the long‐held view of glass as an isotropic solid and highlights how atomic‐scale inhomogeneities can influence crystal growth and microstructure of LiNbO3‐

The stability of late-type stars close to the Eddington limit [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
Super-Eddington luminosities in hydrostatic model atmospheres manifest themselves by the presence of gas pressure inversions. Such inversions are not an artifact of the assumption of hydrostatic equilibrium but can also be present in hydrodynamical model

Dynamics of the Disks of Nearby Galaxies

open access: yes, 2008
I describe how the dynamics of galactic disks can be inferred by imaging and spectroscopy. Next I demonstrate that the decomposition of the rotation curves of spiral galaxies into the contributions by the various components of the galaxies is highly ...

PET Imaging of Cardiac Inflammation in Viral Myocarditis Using a DPP4‐Targeted Probe

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study describes a DPP4‐targeted PET probe for imaging myocardial inflammation by selectively targeting activated immune cells. Derived from the clinically approved small‐molecule inhibitor linagliptin, the probe demonstrates favorable biodistribution with specific cardiac uptake in myocarditis.
