Langmuir Isotherms of Quenched and Annealed Polyelectrolyte Brushes

Langmuir, 2000
We report here Langmuir isotherms of diblock copolymers containing a short neutral hydrophobic sequence (polystyrene) and a long water-soluble polyelectrolyte sequence (polyvinyl-2-pyridine). This study focuses on the polyelectrolyte sequence, which is a weak polyelectrolyte when unmodified and strong polyelectrolyte when quaternized.

A Comparison of Millisecond Annealing of B Implants and Isothermal Annealing for Times of a Few Seconds

MRS Proceedings, 1984
ABSTRACTThe annealing behaviour of B implants in the millisecond time regime using a combination of swept line beam and background heating is compared with isothermal annealing with heating cycles of a few seconds.

Crystallization behaviour of Al85Y10Ni5 by isochronal and isothermal annealing

Acta Metallurgica et Materialia, 1991
Abstract Crystallization of Al 85 Y 10 Ni 5 by isochronal annealing showed a strong dependence on scan rate over the range of 0.9–20.7 K/min. At a scan rate of 0.9 K/min, crystallization of Al 85 Y 10 Ni 5 occurred by primary crystallization in a single step.

Isothermal Magnetic-Annealing Experiments on Substitutional Alloys

Journal of Applied Physics, 1967
Isothermal magnetic-annealing experiments were carried out by means of torque measurements on a Ni(Fe) alloy containing 16% Fe and on Fe(Si) alloys with concentrations between 2.7 and 7.9 at. %Si. The measured torques showed an approximate exponential time-dependence in approaching equilibrium.

Short-term isothermal annealing of polyethylene single crystals

Journal of Applied Physics, 1985
Polyethylene single-crystal mats 20 μm thick were heated to the annealing temperatures (120–132 °C) in less than 1 s. The Cornell High Energy Synchrotron Source (CHESS) and a TV detector system were used to obtain wide- and small-angle x-ray scattering patterns from these mats during annealing with a time resolution of 0.3 s.

Crystallization behaviour of metglass 2826A by isochronal and isothermal annealing

Acta Metallurgica, 1988
Abstract Crystallization of Metglass 2826A by isochronal annealing showed a strong dependence on scan rate over the range of 1.4–48.7 K/min. At scan rates less than 9.2 K/min, crystallization of Metglass 2826A occurred by primary crystallization in a two stage process leading to both MS-I and MS-II type phases.

Electronic Defects in Silicon after Transient Isothermal Annealing

MRS Proceedings, 1983
ABSTRACTWe have investigated trap levels in silicon after Thermal Pulse Annealing (TPA). Three different annealing systems consisting of tungsten lamps or a graphite heater have been applied. Trap levels induced in different silicon materials (Cz, FZ, Epi) after TPA have been studied by DLTS and admittance spectroscopy. In boron-doped epitaxial silicon

Isothermal annealing of cold-rolled high-purity nickel

Materials Science and Engineering: A, 2008
Abstract Electron backscattered patterns have been employed to reveal the details of the texture evolution in 90%, 95% and 97.5% cold-rolled, polycrystalline, high-purity nickel specimens after 1 h anneals at a variety of temperatures. The results show that increasing the thickness reduction of cold-rolling both strengthened the cube texture ...

A Device for Precise Isothermal Sample Annealing in an Accelerator Chamber

Instruments and Experimental Techniques, 2019
A device has been developed for isothermal sample annealing in the chamber of an accelerator facility. The application of the nuclear reaction analysis is allowed during the sample annealing. Flowing liquid nitrogen and a resistive heater are used for the sample cooling and heating.

Peculiarities of Phase Formation in TbBO3 during Isothermal Annealing

Physics of the Solid State, 2019
Detailed X-ray studies of changes in the structure of terbium orthoborate TbBO3 in the course of successive high-temperature isothermal annealing of the initial mixture in the form of an amorphous precursor and in the form of a homogenized mixture of microcrystalline Tb7O12 and B2O3 powders have been carried out. It is shown that the formation of TbBO3
