Cobalt Single‐Atom Catalysts for Ultrafast Sulfamethoxazole Degradation: Unveiling the Chloride‐Ion‐Enhanced Formation of Co(IV)=O

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An atomically dispersed Co–N4 single‐atom catalyst rapidly activates peroxymonosulfate to remove the antibiotic sulfamethoxazole from water. Common ions have little impact, but chloride dramatically speeds degradation by promoting a high‐valent Co(IV) = O oxidant via in situ HOCl–catalyst electron transfer.

The nitrogen isotope effect of benthic remineralization-nitrification-denitrification coupling in an estuarine environment [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
The nitrogen (N) stable isotopic composition of pore water nitrate and total dissolved N (TDN) was measured in sediments of the St. Lawrence Estuary and the Gulf of St. Lawrence.

Enhancing Biogenic Formic Acid Production in the Modified OxFA Process by Acetonitrile Addition

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In this study, the beneficial effect of using acetonitrile as a co‐solvent in the modified OxFA process is shown, outperforming methanol, demonstrating improved reaction kinetics combined with high selectivity for the HPA‐2 (H5PV2Mo10O40) catalyzed oxidation of xylose to FA.

Aptamer‐Targeted PrPC Drives Colorectal Cancer Metastasis via a LYN‐STAT3 Complex and Enables Liquid Biopsy Detection

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The aptamer WHY‐3E identifies PrPC as a CRC driver. Stabilized by USP18, endocytosed PrPC forms a LYN/STAT3 complex, upregulating MSN transcription to promote metastasis. Crucially, WHY‐3E sensitively detects PrPC‐positive circulating exosomes, establishing a robust theoretical foundation for non‐invasive clinical diagnostics.

Calcium isotope fractionation in alpine plants [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
In order to develop Ca isotopes as a tracer for biogeochemical Ca cycling in terrestrial environments and for Ca utilisation in plants, stable calcium isotope ratios were measured in various species of alpine plants, including woody species, grasses and ...

Study on Oxidation Rate and Isotope Fractionation of Methane in Bohai Sea Sediments

open access: yesYankuang ceshi, 2018
BACKGROUND:The Bohai Sea contains a large amount of oil and gas, the main component of which is methane. The influence of natural or human factors will cause its leakage and migration and then have a negative impact on the environment.

Inter-mineral Mg isotope fractionation during hydrothermal ultramafic rock alteration: Implications for the global Mg-cycle

open access: yes, 2014
Both riverine and ocean waters are enriched in 24Mg compared to the homogeneous chondritic Mg isotopic composition of the Earth's mantle requiring a fractionation step that is generally attributed to low temperature continental crust weathering.

How Proton Incorporation Reshapes Lattice Dynamics In BaSnO3‐Type Proton Conductors

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Yttrium‐doped BaSnO3 exhibits isotope‐dependent changes in its low‐energy vibrational density of states upon hydration. Comparison of dry, H2O‐, and D2O‐treated samples re‐veals mass‐dependent phonon renormalization linked to proton dynamics near oxygen va‐cancies, providing experimental insight into hydrogen‐coupled lattice excitations in proton ...
